Made for the October Quarterly contest, I present to you: Rattler Reborn!
This RMC Hybrid features 3 inversions: 2 Barrel rolls and a 360 degree stall. The ride also features a beyond vertical drop and 1 tunnel. Also starring a bright and futuristic makeover to signify it's re-imagining!
The 2 unique elements are the 360 degree stall and beyond vertical drop.
Thanks to: TheCodeMaster for his RMC Rails and Larson Looper flat ride
Realism - The track felt fairly realistic, with the support work being pretty good except for in a few notable places. The gap for the track to go through was far too small, making me worry about whether or not the ride will pass the clearance test. However, the track itself was very smooth, with little to no pumps and plenty of unique elements, much like a real RMC. There was no queue line, which was somewhat odd, but the placing of the scenery and flat rides was very accurate in relation to the coaster. [<--- I wish I did this!]
Technique - The technique was pretty good, with good pacing and smooth track work, especially for a hand built ride. Again, the supports could use a bit more love, but they were not terrible by any means. I also felt that some more of the existing supports could have been used in order to allow for a pathway to go underneath the ride. However, I LOVE the way you used the pathways and railings, it gives a realistic feel to the small park.
Adrenaline - While not the best thrill machine in the world, (I found the second half of the ride relatively dull compared to the showstopping first half) the coaster did provide a great, thrilling experience, with plenty of near miss effects and unique elements, such as the stall/barrel roll thing right after the drop. Rattler Reborn is a fairly thrilling ride, with loads of cool elements and a neat plaza. However, the pacing was slightly off, but this was made up for by the awesome layout.
Uniqueness - The layout of this ride was really unique, being completely different than the real ride. The use of space by changa was excellent, especially on the part with the helices overlapping. (VERY COOL!) The pathways were also very unique, and don't even get me started on the drop. Out of this world! RMC should definitely look into beyond 90 degree drops on their coasters.
Rider Value - Personally, I would go ride this if it were at Carowinds. (Please remove Hurler in place for this beauty) It was a great ride and experience, and the color scheme was pretty cool too. (Thank you for not using pure white, it drives me crazy when people do that) Overall, it was a great coaster and I would definitely ride in real life if the supports on the inversions were fixed.
