TROPIC STORM

by highdesertmike · NoLimits Coaster 2 · Dec 5th, 2015
Description
Hello Everyone!

Tropic Storm is my third design made using Nolimits2.

I hope you will enjoy it and I do really appreciate either a rating or comments on the coaster so I can improve with each design I make.

The Coaster is a Inverted 4 seat that is set in a tropical terrain with a lagoon and islands.

Two trains running
7 inversions
max length = 5593 ft
Max height = 209 ft
max speed = 70 mph
I did my best to keep the G's as realistic as possible though there is a second spike of 5.1 vert G's going out of its first tunnel.
Most of the coaster I made custom supports for. Did use a couple of prefab
The signs were done by me using Object Creator

Big Credits go out to:
Mkingy for use of the chain link fences and steel hand rails.
Nseven for the use of NL2Foliage
Coastermind for the use of JL NL2 Stone set
Plantoris for the use of the Park pack
Thank you guys.

I really enjoyed this, I thought it kept it's pace very well and included plenty of elements to keep it exciting.

T: Overall the trackwork was well done in most parts and the way the ride interacted with the terrain was great. But there were some pumps throughout, most were small and could only be noticed if you were really looking for them, but the most obvious one is in the transition into the 2nd corkscrew. My only other suggestions would be to reduce the radius of the transition into the lift, and try to edit the ending turn into the brake so it doesn't turn-straight-turn again. I made this mistake in my ride inFAMOUS: The Duel.

A: I really liked your layout and terrain interaction, I questioned the shape of the first loop at first but after running the ride again a few times I understood why you did that shape. I ended up enjoying that element more the more I viewed it. As for the terrain, I'd like to see more randomized terrain instead of boxes for the pits where the train travels low to the ground, try to make it more realistic by making the pit less of a box shape.

O: It was original, I have no complaints here. It followed the B&M track style very well and the elements were there to match. The elements transition one into another seamlessly.

This ride was generally great fun, another huge inverted coaster that carried a lot of good pace throughout the ride. I felt the trackwork on the ride was solid throughout in terms of smoothness. All the elements did feel far to circular - I imagine you might have run them all through the de-pumper, but in locations such as the apex of loops/half loops and the inverted bits of wingovers you need a small "pump" to give better forces and a better ride due to the train travelling slower through these parts. You also had a small banking problem at the exit to the MCBR. The track twisted whilst it was still on the brakes. I felt your support work could have done with some work too, especially on the inversions where upside down supports were unneeded and half loop supports were placed too far up the element.

Adrenaline wise as mentioend it defintiely packed a punch - each element did flow into the next pretty well and there were enough changes in direction to keep it interesting. Having a loop towards the end of the first section showed how much speed the ride had and I think it had a positive effect on the pacing of the ride. The final return to the station was really poor. It felt like you hadn't really planned any of the layout to reach the brakes without an awkward RCT-esque double turn. This somewhat hurt the pacing of the ride. I felt you did a good job with uniqueness - the inverted top hat was a nice addition and the post MCBR layout was an inventive take on the classic. The surrounding scenery was reasonably good - it didn't look hugely realistic as everything was too uniform - but it did help complete the scene.

Feel free to pm me about your rate! [:
