.....

Honestly, I've put this off for far too long. :P

Well, I don't really know how or why this took so long, but here it is, finally. I've remade Gyrfalcon, my greatest NL1 creation, in NL2!

Basically, Gyrfalcon is this crazy idea of mine inspired by a combination of things, such as the concept of Phantom's Revenge's second drop, a certain review of Diamondback that was written by Jeremy Thompson on Roller Coaster Philosophy, as well as childhood memories of my grandparents' house that stands right at the foot of a large valley that has a highway on top. I also added my own pizzazz to what would simply be a terrain gigacoaster, by adding a rogue barrel roll that the train travels through at 70mph! Because I'm crazy. :P The ride doesn't let up until it hits the brakes, though, since it has a series of airtime hills and forceful turns, too.

For this project, the main idea was to take "fantasy coaster" concepts and incorporate them into this ride so that they can seem much more believable while still retaining their "wow" factor. If I do say so myself, it has a lot of elegance both when it soars high in the skies as well when it dives and speeds along incredibly close to the ground.

A few changes I've made to improve this ride include (but are not limited to): - Normalizing the forces to more realistic ranges while still retaining the original version's very forceful nature - Changing the trains to the far more spacious and open Gerstlauer Infinity Coaster 2 trains - Removing the less-than-necessary MCBR that was present in the original Gyrfalcon so that the ride now maintains a more consistent pacing from start to finish - Improving some transitions so that they flow better and have a sharper "snap" to them - Increasing the steepness of the final helix - Increasing the number of airtime moments

Originally, Gyrfalcon was supposed to be part of a major park project that I had already planned, but unfortunately, progress on that project did not turn out as I thought it would due to less than ideal layout planning on my part. Maybe I'll make another attempt at an NL2 park next time.

Anyway, hope you guys enjoy!

To be honest, this ride had be ooooing and ahhhhing (with the occasional "oh s**t") the entire time. It is not only original, but extremely creative and inventive. The layout alone screams something that has not been done or seen before, and for that, applause goes to you.

Technique - Since Infinity coasters are fairly new, you have no true source for comparison. The only thing that I would have liked to be done differently would be the lift supports; I feel like you could have done something really original that has not been done before, but that's my opinion. I also think that you may have a couple too many supports on the hammerhead turnaround, but again, that's my opinion.

Adrenaline - As mentioned, this ride is pretty relentless and does not let up. High adrenaline the whole way through, so that's why this category is so high.

Uniqueness - Perfect score on this end solely because no one has ever done anything like this in-game or in real life either. It's truly unique in it's own right!

Realism - This is the lowest category only because I wonder if some of these elements could be done in reality. It's extremely fun and I would love to see it come to fruition, however I do question how functional it would be in terms of durability and longevity.

Rider Value - This is high as well due to the fact that if I was oooing and ahhhing at a simulator, there is no way that I wouldn't be screaming and laughing the entire time if it were real.

Great work. I loved it!
