Track Description
Hi everyone! I've been gone for a long time because I lost my password.

You are about to download the BEST RECREATION of the BOBS coaster at Riverview Park, Chicago, Ill.

Chicago's Riverview Park closed after the 1967 season and the BOBS was destroyed, but not forgotten. I believe I have recreated the almost perfect replica of that ride. Download it and see what you think. I'm working on a better colored version of the ride right now and will soon upload it. When I made this version of the Bobs, the NL program didn't allow you to color each individual piece of wood, which I'll do in my next version. That will make it more realistic.

READ THIS BEFORE DOWNLOADING !!!!

DON'T WORRY IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE NEWEST NL 1.6 VERSION. JUST REDUCE THE NUMBER OF CARS ON THE TRAINS TO 8 INSTEAD OF 11 AND THE TRAINS WILL PERFORM GREAT. The trains really had 11 cars but 8 will do for the simulation.

I got all my information from books on Riverview Park. I also have never ridden this ride but have heard about it from several people. It was the most famous roller coaster at Riverview.

The BOBS was painted white but I decided to leave it the wood color. The wood color didn't turn out very good because of my old monitor which didn't show the correct colors.

I received a comment from a friend who has ridden the BOBS many times and he said this is like riding the real BOBS!

SPECIAL THANKS TO BOBCOASTER FOR TELLING ME THERE WAS AN EXTRA SMALL CHAIN LIFT ON THE WAY TO THE LIFT HILL!

This is the ultimate in coaster recreations, if a couple kinks are fixed. He got the little chain correct, but the coaster has a block segment on the lift. Besides this it is a perfect recreation of the surroundings, the coaster, and the trains themselves.

Thanks to everybody for your comments on my Bobs coaster. I didn't realize the train paused near the top of the lift hill. I'll have to watch that in the future. I met an older gentleman from Chicago long ago and all he talked about was the Bobs roller coaster at Riverview. I knew it was a special coaster so when I got NO LIMITS I was determined to recreate this special coaster and see what it was all about. The Bobs was truly an amazing roller coaster. Too bad Riverview closed after the 1967 season. I know there was an attempt to recreate the Bobs at Geauga Lake in Ohio (Raging Wolf Bobs) but I think the layout of the Geauga Lake Bobs was too spread out and not at all like the original. Now that coaster (Raging Wolf Bobs) is gone. So many of the old coasters are dropping like flies. Soon there won't be any left, sad to say.

T-I can tell you spent a lot of time on this, especially with the scenery and station work.
A- I knocked it down a little bit because the timing of the block sections caused an enormous pause on the top of the lift hill, but I could not be too harsh seeing as that is a user specific fix =).
O- I love that you hand build all the added scenery and station work using free-nodes. I know how frustrating and time consuming that can be.

Overall, you really made me long for the days when coasters were about pacing and fun, rather than breaking world records. (thanks Arrow, you are "not" missed)

Technically I think this coaster is awesome. You paid so much attention to details and I love the custom dock. I liked the layout, I'm just curious about the beginning and the lift hill. The train paused when it was almost to the top, was it supposed to do that? I didn't knock your score down for it because I was not sure. This is a great coaster nonetheless. Thanks for sharing it.

This is just brilliant. As a life long Chicagoan, I have been obsessed with The Bobs for years because it's likely the best coaster I never got to ride. Your attention to detail is amazing. From the placement of the Chicago River to the Parachutes and Chute-the-Chutes rides. The layout was near perfection and I can't even fault you for the high lateral G's as everyone I know who was fortunate enough to get to ride this monster says it was a very rough ride. The only thing keeping those 9's from being 10's is the fact that I have no personal experience to compare it to. Thank so much for you effort and attention to detail. You've revived one of the best loved coasters ever.
