Posted - 12/06/2011 : 7:33:39 PM Fun Spot America (Fun Spot Action Park) in Orlando Florida has announced that they will be tripling in size from five acres to fifteen acres. The Fun Spot located at Grand National Drive and Del Verde Way will be expanding into vacant land to the north of the park.
Land inside circle is where they are expanding.
The Fun Spot is now going to be building a waterpark and two roller coasters in this area. One of the roller coasters will be a family type ride and the other will be a GCI L-shaped rollercoaster that will go along the roads along the expansion area. All rides but the two level go-kart track will stay open. That go-kart track will be changed into a five level track. The expansion will be ready in 2013.
Fun Spot will also be expanding into a test of the season/annual pass program. Both Fun Spots will be included in the pass and there will only be about 1000 to be purchased since the parks are testing the idea. The passes will cost $100 and are good from Christmas of 2011 to New Years Day 2013.
Posted - 05/18/2013 : 11:46:59 PM ^Did they announce an actual opening date?
Was really shocked that this is opening ahead of schedule. Didn't think it would be open for my trip. I'll be hitting this and the Vekoma sometime next week, hopefully the Enterprise too.

Posted - 05/18/2013 : 2:20:18 PM I like the quick pacing it has all the way through. Looks like a fun little woodie to check out the next time I'm in Orlando.

Posted - 05/18/2013 : 2:06:42 PM It'll be interesting to see how their track does with the steel supports relative to other manufacturers.
Also the trains are hilariously small and I never noticed that until now.

I love how such a big, coaster building company hand builds in NL. And then pumps the track all over the place.
First of all, it wasn't really that bad. Second, I wouldn't be at all surprised if, given the new pics of the layout, that this was a preliminary design, whipped together quickly enough for the other team members to judge it before porting all of their design work over to AutoCAD or something.
Brought into NL from the CAD prelims...the only "pro" part about it. Everything else is clever texturing and 3ds. As for pumping, that's what you get from the rough design before any advanced mathematics come into play. You'll notice the shaping is also different from the one video to the other.
It's going to be a fun ride. I'm looking forward to Fun Spot moving up in the amusement park ladder!

Posted - 07/27/2012 : 11:23:42 PM Its a unique family coaster for a very small park thats in the middle of industry giants why does it need to intense?

And doesn't add any G's.
Something different for a change though! Intamin has the G's covered. So far you're the only GCI-hater I've seen on the Internet. There may be more, but I haven't seen any lol.

Posted - 07/27/2012 : 3:35:57 PM I agree... looks great. I love all of the wacky shaping GCI does now. Adds a lot of originality and fun to the ride.

Posted - 05/29/2012 : 9:34:48 PM There has been a No Limits recreation from GCI out on Youtube for a long time... for over 2 months now. I would have thought people had already seen it by now, but I guess not:
Edit: Yeah and this doesn't show a 90 degree bank.
Coasterkidmwm
Posted - 05/29/2012 : 7:51:46 PM Now you can have even less laterals

Posted - 05/29/2012 : 5:54:42 PM Is that a 90° bank I see?

I completely and totally thought the capitalization of the letters was just a typo, not that it declared an actual design.

Do you have that pic in more detail?
Nope, sorry. This is all I found. We could always keep fingers crossed until somewhere a more detailed picture will be released.
Apparently in a podcast has been said that the coaster would be around 100ft tall. Nice height to do some fun stuff with.

Posted - 12/11/2011 : 9:16:23 PM This seems to become the layout from the ride. Looks interesting, a GCI out 'n back coaster.
