This is probably not the best place to ask stuff like this but I’ll give it a shot.
I’m building a lab in vmware wks 8 with a dc and sql server up and running in order to test some of the concepts of vsphere itself. 5 X86 Win7 client machines are already added to the newly created domain. The crap is I need to create more servers and needs each machine to use as little memory as possible as the whole thing will be running for the tests. I’m only running 8GB memory and each windows machine needs to have at least 1GB for the test.

Trying to reduce some of the resources I’ve decided all machines to run win classic theme with no visual effects and added the following to the default group policy.

The path needs to be blank for the windows classic policy according to the description. Basically the group policy applies perfectly after reboot on each machine. The problem is it changes the theme from aero to classic but with most visual styles still in place such as clear type text and the translucent selection etc…

What I need is the policy needs to remove all the visual effects cleared out which is kind of embarrassing as GPO’s is what I’ve been doing at work for the last 3 years.

This is what I need it to do:

Why not use Windows XP VMs instead of Windows 7? They require less RAM. PM me if you want a copy of XP.

Have XP but I want the VM's Windows 7 cause the product tested will be a procurement system for a a stack based windows 7.

Basically We are designing a web interface that will be used for provisioning and cloning computer objects on demand. This also explains the policy requirements. So via a click on a button, instant win 7 VM, credentials, and network solution. All will be Accessible via terminal services. Long story short the basics of Cloud.
