I've been whoring on the most recent Vektor album and Beyond Creation's "The Aura". Certainly some of the better traditional prog/death/black/thrash metal from last year.

I listen to kyuss the original band don't know if the new band has other music maybe i need to check them out. for as far as i know they are doing music from kyuss . correct me if I'm wrong.

Teutonic thrash is all good.

Try Legion Of The Damned since their music is pretty much Sodom but with slightly slower tempos.

Warbringer and Vektor are also bands that you may like.

I was never big into the Kyuss/desert rock thing. I love stoner metal but that stuff goes too fast/hard rock for me. I'm not a big fan of High On Fire either. The slow sludgey stuff is where it's at.
