Flat rides have been around in parks for decades, but what is your personal favorite type of flat ride?
You're probably surprised, because my favorite flat rides are KMG Spinouts, such as Maelstrom at Morey's Piers. Such a shame there aren't many operating anymore.
Here's a video of one in operation:

That's a joke right? What complaint could they have possibly given?

They should only be allowed to complain about the coaster being built too far away from them.

Find these seem to be quite common on the UK fair circuit!

From what I've seen, not many of them are in the US, at least. The one in the video has since been removed.

A good drop tower beats all else in my opinion, but other than that Rock-O-Planes and Screamin' Swings are my favorites. I also like scramblers and flying scooters quite a bit, but I'm not a huge fan of flat rides with numerous inversions.

You just drift over to one side and then switch directions really quickly, from what I remember. It's been a while since I went on some though. :?

It's more about making it stall out, like pumping a swingset. You basically want to dive at the ground and the straighten the sail so the cables slack, then push the sail outwards and you get launched. Once you're in the rhythm it pretty much does it on it's own, until the mean snap nazis at Knoebels yell at you and turn the speed down.

Well you need a good one. The only one's I've really been able to snap are the ones at Knoebels (of course), Kings Dominion and Six Flags America (barely). As long as you can figure out how to get the car high enough at the crest, it should start snapping pretty quickly (on the good ones). The ones at Lake Compounce are amusingly bad if that's what you're basing it off lol.

Edit: And also I have to control myself because since I'm130 lbs, it gets to a point where my neck can't take it lol.

I've had LCs going quite a few times, but the cycle is pretty short so you only get 2-3 snaps max.

@Freddie and all those being awesome at Flyers: Amazing! Sounds like a "practice makes a perfect experience" ride as well as Gerstlauer's Sky Roller / Fly! They want us to do acrobats!

A+!

I've once snapped those cables from those flying scooters. At that point I thought I was going to break it and tried to calm down a little. Funny to see how it's a sport
