I've not been on the Dl space mountain irl yet but from what I've seen yours is an exact replica sound track even fits. Now only if you'd try a wdw version I know the wdw has two tracks and is pretty impossible to make two tracks at once but nu could alwaus link em together to make it appear as two.

Really nice recreation I NoLimits 1. Ran fine on last NoLimit 1.8 version. Best to run the Track packager in admin mode on Windows 8 to make sure the files show up properly.

Note 4 textures are installed in C:\Program Files\NoLimits Coasters v1.55 even if you have C:\Program Files\NoLimits Coasters v1.8 as the only version installed. The .nlpack seems to have a path of Objects\..\..\NoLimits Coasters v1.55 built in 4 of the textures.

Space Mountain opened in 1977, invigorating a decade-old Tomorrowland as Disneyland's second roller coaster. The idea for Anaheim's ride originated in the mid 1960s, during Walt Disney's lifetime, as a way to energize the aging Tomorrowland. The project was shelved until the success of Space Mountain in Florida. After two years of construction, the $20 million complex opened May 27 including the roller coaster, 1,100-seat Space Stage, 670-seat Space Place (fast food restaurant) and Starcade.[3]

Six of the original seven Mercury astronauts attended Space Mountain's opening ????????? Scott Carpenter, Gordon Cooper, Sen. John Glenn, Wally Schirra, Alan Shepard, and Deke Slayton. The lone exception was Gus Grissom, who had died along with two other astronauts in a tragic launchpad fire ten years earlier.[2] Largely due in part to the opening of Space Mountain, the Memorial Day day attendance record was set, with 185,500 guests over the three-day period.[3] Space Mountain at Disneyland was designed by Bill Watkins of Walt Disney Imagineering, including a tubular steel track design awarded U.S. Patent 4,029,019. The track layout was different from that in Florida because of space limitations in the California park.

The attraction continued operating without much change: sponsors would come and go, and various minor changes, including the addition of a "Speedramp" (moving sidewalk) in the entrance, happened without fanfare. In 1995, FedEx (which had by this time was holding sponsorship for the Magic Kingdom's Space Mountain) became the official sponsor for the ride, sparking a number of significant alterations. The queue area was revamped with television monitors looping safety videos, the loading station had a new Audio-Animatronic robot FedEx worker, and other scenic areas were modeled to include FedEx trademarks.[3]

T-Nothing was overlooked, from the entry tunnels and queue, to the catwalks along the entire ride.

A-Not the most heart pounding ride, but your re-creation definitely puts me back into space station 77 at disneyland and in the front seat.

O-even though this was a recreation, I gotta recognize that you took the time to create all those 3d's. you did a wonderful job keep up the great work.

i used some of the space mountain 3d's from the 77 and 2005 versions to add to my on custom track layout. Let me know if you want to see how it turned out

T: WOW. It is very obvious that you used blue prints because this is spot on! The bumps the speeds, even the supports. This was simply incredible.

A: great pacing with the proximity of the stars giving the illusion of speed. You had me humming the music in my head.

O: I have to say that this was the most impressive 3d work that I have ever seen. Try for disney world next.

I haven't been back to Disneyland since the renovation of Space mountain so I can only vouch for the track accuracy, which was spot on. The 3D's were wonderful and I can't imagine how long it took you to make everything. Well done!

I didn't download the file because I got it by e-mail, but I don't know why people think the track is jerky....
I bet that 56/100 people who complained didn't ride it with the lights on. The re-entry tunnel, considering it's a recreation, it was sorta bad, but the ride as it's own is fantastic!
I could have seen you do better with that blue tunnel, so try placing somthing to overlap the blue cells and they will flash. Also, put in the grey bars.

Excellent job!! I haven't ridden the Disneyland version but I did ride the one in Florida and it was a very violent ride because you couldn't see where the train was going. I prefer the video and NL sim version any day!!! I appreciate all the effort you put into making this ride.

Well isn't this supposed to be the update? So why is it equally pumpy?
coaster992001
User avatar
Mar 31st, 2007
how is this ride getting anything lower than a 9?! yes the 3ds are great and the track does pump and is bumpy, but so did the real thing before the update. when sm opened, the way they built rides was to shape the steel on-site like wooden rides are built now. they had no prefabricated sections perfectly shaped by computers. it was all done by hand. well.. much more by hand. you can't bend that metal without some sort of machine. the resulting ride was bumpy and far from smooth. the track on this thing is a perfect recreation. i'd love to see a recreation of the orlando version. but anything under a 9 is a low rate imo.

Not sure why this ride is receiving 8's for tech, as the track is some of the worst garbage I've ever seen...save some lives from drowning in your 3D work that outshines how horrible you put the track together...

Adrenaline wise, the ride was decent, because it's always fun riding in the dark. From personal experiences, the blaring sound of people's piercing screams in the enclosure was purely priceless on the real thing. But, not too much of an exciting recreation. Seems like you're just winning people over with excellent 3D work.

Acc: Hard to evaluate accuracy as it's pitch place on the real thing, but I never felt pumps on Space Mountain, so I don't think it could be perfectly exact and precise. Still, it shows you put your heart into the scene objects, so I'll award you in the Acc Score for hard work.

Everyone loves this coaster a lot, but i actually had some problems with it.

The track was not smooth at all, which is a huge minus, and thats the only i saw wrong with this coaster, but its a big deal.

You shouldve worked longer on this track, i think that it needed more of a smoothing, but everything else was flawless, and i reallly enjoyed youre coaster. BUT PLEASE! THE TRACK IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!

First the good news - I must say this is a PERFECT recreation of SM. All of the 3D scenery in place, the points of light, the colors, the sounds, everything. 10-10-10 to your simulation. But the bad news is I have to comment on the ride itself. I rode this several times, the first time in 1988. When this attraction first opened it was in total darkness save for a few colored lights. Since riders were unable to brace for what they couldn't see coming, there were neck injuries. This resulted in putting in the points of light so the track was visible, and also slowing it down. I can't absolutely verifiy it, but I had heard that for a while it was slowed down to just 17 MPH. When I first rode it the top speed was about 25 MPH, but I do remember that the overall feeling of the ride was being annoyed by its jerkiness. This after one of the longest lines in the park. The adrenaline level of the ride is very low, maybe a 2 or 3, unless you develop adrenalin in your body from being shaken AND stirred. But your simulation drops the jaw of anyone who has done the real thing.

Well, first of all,I'm a great fan of coasters with objects (just take a look to my rides) and I'm a great fan of Space Mountain (my first exciting experience at the age of 6)and this is a PERFECT re-creation.
Sorry if I don't give any rate but,due to the original one in Disneyland, the rates would be extremely low (this is clearly not your fault)

I explain:I feel to give you a full 10 'cause you worked hard on it and we can see it.IT'S AMAZING!
BUT I'm sure you agree with me in saying that you chose a coaster in which the adrenaline level is 2 and, technically,it's not the most difficult one to re-create.
Originality,well....uhm....maybe too many examples of this, even if I think this is absolutely the best.

I hope my words are clear:I hope to see something else from your fantasy 'cause you have a talent and your ride is already in my *SPECIAL* folder.

Excellent job!

amazing work some of the 3d objects are like they were made by a high end games company this is the best job i have seen on nolimits so far. as far as the lift hills go i would have marked it lower but due to your explaination on why they are split up i fully understand why. top marks all round

as pointed out, "dcs221," the real track is not smooth and pumps. It is a great ride because of the theming and soundtrack
jaz2072

Mar 26th, 2007
Hey 'dcs221' have you ever been on the actual ride at Disneyland,CA? It's not a "real" rollercoaster...the ride is basically a Wild Mouse on steroids. It has a top speed of only about 35mph. The real ride actually does have sharp turns and jerks between transitions. The entire track is packed tightly into a 200ft (61 m) diameter dome. Every part of the track work and support system in this recreation was created by hand using blueprints from the actual ride. It's a classic ride, which like all Disney rides, succeeds because of it's detailed theming.... not necessarily it's trackwork.

In order to synchronize the ride with it's soundtrack and ride events, I had to get creative with some of the lift hills and block brake sections. There are actualy about 13 brake sections.. this allows Disney to run 13 trains at the same time!

I hope you and others can enjoy this re-creation for what it is. It seems like everyone who has been on the real ride understands what I have done here.

wow! the 3ds were in credible here!

tech: the 3ds were right on! terrific!
trackwork: it was jerky with bad transitions, just like the real ride. it felt like an old arrow, just like what space mountain is.. well, was before they updated it. terrific!

adren: you really captured the feel of rushing through the stars like the real thing. great job!

orig: it's not the most origional idea in the world considering how many people have tried to re-create the space mountains. however, this went way above and beyond anything i've seen. great job! now go and make an orlando version! lol. terrific!

Did nobody notice the single segment lifts and the very jerky and pumpy trackwork? Or was the roller coaster lost in the 3ds...

Way to not consider the actual ride guys...

Sir, i do believe you just earned my first 10,10,10 for Nl. This is by far the best recreation I have ever seen. Everything was spot on, the speed, the track work, the length, the environment. I was originally a bit worried that this wouldn't capture one of my favorite rides in all its glory but it has. I rode the ride multiple times with the ride's very own song and it was perfectly synced. Having ridden this ride hundreds of times my self i must say that this was a perfect recreation.

I can e-mail you the song if you PM me with your e-mail
