I will say that the extreme sports show is pretty cool, I saw it on my visit to Dorney this year
What are these for?

Watch, Vallyfair is getting a record breaking entrance coaster and they delayed the announcement because they are enjoying rolling in the hate much more than they thought they would

Well they are getting the first and only Gerstlauer Infinity in this side of the world.

Still amazed that they named it Flying Eagles and not Flying Hawks.

I trust that the people who are making the decisions on what to add know what they're doing, but it's just hard to see most other Cedar Fair and Six Flags frequently adding thrilling attractions while Valleyfair gets next to nothing. :|

Very dissapointing for all the Valleyfair fanboys. They thought they would get a new parking lot, but instead they're getting flying scooters. Oh noes.

^Says the one who goes to Gadv like 30 times a year  . It's great that we have a choice of which parks to visit here in NJ.

From the GM's Twitter account, the old amphitheater is officially dead. Glad that this eyesore is finally gone, but still kind of annoyed that they're just replacing it with a new one. :|

Still it seems really lame to get a flat ride that can take less than a week to put up for an entire offseason.

I wanted to see a mini but fun coaster coming in the old amphitheater zone!

Just noticed a rumor of new coaster on Screamscape.
2017 - New Coaster - (12/21/15) Is Valleyfair ready to open a new coaster? The local fans sure think so, as the last BIG coaster to open at the park was Renegade way back in 2007. According to one rumor, the park may be planning on adding their next major new coaster for the 2017 season. A pitty they weren't ready to do it in 2016 however, as it would have made a great extra to help the park celebrate it's 40th Anniversary.

As nice as this would be, I don't plan on getting my hopes up since this is Valleyfair we're talking about.

FINALLY. A rumor with a head-start. This is what I've been waiting for. Big coasters usually get rumor nods really early and then they slowly develop into more concrete realizations as time goes on. Not to mention, Screamscape rumors have a reputably high success rate.

It only takes one announcement to change that mindset... but I do know where you're coming from
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

this was my theory.

They can build the stupid Eagle thing and use the rest of the budget to start on the plans for the levee expansion. Maybe still saving some money to spend on a nice big coaster. Then if they finish the levee this year they will have a lot more room to fit a decent coaster into.

Additionally, I've also heard a rumor that Excalibur will be staying through at least 2017 (maybe the plans for the new Soak City parking lot were rejected).

^ Retracking Excalibur to be a RMC (If possible... not sure whether or not an Arrow "jarring" layout goes well with the latest I-Box track.) is better than just getting removed! Just my dream though.

Found this article on SeekingAlpha.com about how new coasters at Cedar Fair parks are driving strong growth, and it was noted that the next two parks that are likely to receive Carowinds-like investments are Valleyfair :) and California's Great America.
Based on the success at Carowinds, the company is looking at Valleyfair and Great America next (though zoning limitations at the latter may hamper some expansion). While I don't think it's prudent to project mid-high single-digit growth over the long term, I think it may be sustainable for the next few years based on the slate of investments. Remember that 2016 results will be driven mostly by '15 capex spend, and a lot of that (ex. Valravn) is already in - so capital spend this year will be mostly driving revenue in '17 and beyond.

On the topic of Flying Eagles, it looks like the park is waiting until spring to start construction. Shouldn't be a problem since flyers don't take long to put up.

Maybe the Valleyfair fanboys will finally get that B&M invert that they so sorely "deserve".

We'll see if it ends up being another B&M "entrance coaster" like Gatekeeper and the latest round of gigas.
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"
