Hello!

Welcome to the official CoasterCrazy 2017 U.S.A. Meet and Trip! Last years official meets were a huge success and we want to continue doing them. This year for the U.S.A. side we will be touring the Northeast riding legendary coasters such as Boulder Dash, Kingda Ka, Intimidator 305, Alpengeist, and more (70 more to be exact)! We will be having the official meet in beautiful Six Flags Great Adventure for 2 days in the middle of the road trip.

While we cannot promise anything we will always try to obtain exclusive perks for those who join our trips and we will constantly keep you updated as to what is in store! This first post will be updated progressively as we get closer to the trip and will be finalized far before the time to purchase cheap airline tickets.

Now the choice is yours members of CoasterCrazy! Will you join us for one park, multiple parks or will you join us for all of them?

All details will be provided below:

Meeting times and places on the day, as well as perk arrangements will be confirmed at a later date

Put me down as a probably. I'll probs just drive to SFNE, then home, then to LC and join from there.

I probably won't join for the rest of the trip since I've been to most of those parks already and have college stuff to deal with this summer.

Put me down as a definitely for Great Adventure only. That is my home park and I'm too lazy to travel elsewhere.

My name is Chris, so put me down as that

The only reason I make my yearly visit to that park is to see what they managed to ruin this time around. The park makes an effort to suck even more every year.

If I may offer some input, it would be better to do LC for a full day. Boulder Dash is better than anything at Quassy and even then you might cut it close and miss the chairlift which is a must ride. If you don't ride the chairlift then you haven't experienced LC yet.

This will decide if i go to Dorney/Dominion.

Since i work at Kings island and i get in free to any cedar fair owned park (and parking is free), would i still need to buy a ticket if i intend on going?

How late of notice do you need? I can most likely go to both BGW and KD, but I have no definite plans at the moment.

Well seeing as we have no confirmation of any other information yet you still have a while to go. Last year late notice was like June 20th so we have a lot of time :)

Oh side note please let me know either by PM or posting here if you are bringing a +1 or 2 or 3 or however many you are bringing!

Coincidentally, one of the trips I'm considering for 2017 includes a number of these parks, so it is definitely tempting. I'm not sure if I'd want to do the whole trip (Dorney, Hershey, and Kings Dominion haven't really added anything of note since my last visits to them), but I could possibly do the first few days and then continue separately after SFGAdv. No matter what, if I do a North East trip this summer I'll definitely do the meet-up at SFGAdv, but I probably won't know for sure what my plans are until late March.

Can we cut Dorney to 1/2 day and finish at Knoebels? It's pretty on the way to Hershey, free admission, and their ride ops haul ass so we should be able to do it in a few hours.

Put me back on for SFNE, I can provide transport from BOS to there for around 4 people if needed.

We should swap SFNE out for something else, it's one set of Bumper Boats away from being an FEC.

LC is closer to the airport, we could set aside a day for Knoebels instead. It's a cheap park, the rides are fantastic, and the food is amazing.

This is a really good idea. Knoebels is one of the best parks in the country, while Dorney Park is an average Cedar Fair park that doesn't warrant a full day if you aren't also visiting the waterpark. If you left Dorney around 3 P.M., you'd have enough time to include Knoebels.

Also, my name is AJ in case you want to include that in the first post.

Another possibility is to start in Canobie, which is closer to the airport and has cheap hotels. It also avoids Boston traffic if we head to SFNE from there. It can also be done in like 3 hours so you can fly in in the morning, spend a bit of time there, and still do everything. Might be a good meeting park. Modified Map: https://goo.gl/maps/smiern95s6T2
