I think an overbank is anything over 91 degrees, and anything over 180 degrees is an inversion.

well, your overbank part is ture, but your inversion thesis is false. why? b/c if that is true, then there are no inversions in the world.

im pretty sure it's like this:

normal track: 0-90*
overbank: 91-135*
inversion: 136-180*

Nice Iron Man. I've decided to start my track over, as I had an ultra-long, but at times slow and lagging track of 6500+ ft. I'm going for a bit shorter track now, deliver a much more concise and intense ride, courtesy of a 45-degree angle launch, and a 260 ft. tall top hat out over water and an 85+ mph top speed.

McFly, you and I think too much alike. I am using an inverting top-hat over the water that goes into a high speed helix over the water. About 3 ft. above the water too. I also have a launch not quite 45* though. Oh dear, I have said too much...

I'm trying to go for 10 inversions. Right now I'm stacked at 8.

yeah.. too bad it sucked! lol, j/k.

mine is just about done. i have 100% custom supports and 5 inversions. its not very long, but its fast and rather smooth. i have a 335 foot 85 mph drop but its shallow and low to the ground so it really gives the feeling of speed. gread for adrenaline! good luck everyone!

In this contest, an inversion is defined as any piece of track with banking of more than 135 degrees. It doesn't really matter in most cases, but that is the official definition on most coasters.

As an additional note:
Due to the current status of the systemary vote, it looks like the pairings are now officially cancelled. The top 16 tracks will go on to the next round.

well, it's good if you are one of those who were in a group of 3, in which you would've had a 33% chance to move on, now you have a 36% chance to move onto the match-up round.

"Terrain cannot be modified EXCEPT FOR TUNNELS and trenches."

If you just have the tunnel running straight into the ground, I understand what you were going for. Bonuses are available for 3ds work that hides the terrain on the entrance, but just leaving it alone is fine too.

You guys who have uploaded realize you still have a week right? I have just finished my layout and trackwork (not the best but it'll do for now) and I'm going to start supports tommorrow. You guys are really rushing this. Just take your time.

You can't re-submit once you've uploaded your track on the exchange.

actually, now that cjd changed the rules on us (cancelled the match-up) i think we should be allowed one re-submission if we uploaded to the track exchanged before that change. i'm pretty sure that my ride would have won against my oponents (mostly because i havent heard of either of them) but i'm doubtful if it'll be one of the top 16.

Yes, why are people submitting tracks now. IMO it is kinda your fault if you have already submitted. You should have made the best track you can, not just a track just good enough to beat opponents. And if you wanted to submit then you should have sent the track in an email, not upload it in the exchange because we all knew once uploading to the exchange you cannot submit again.

Anyway, i started supporting yesterday and im halfway up the lift hill so far. [:D] I need to hurry now though cos i have lots of work to do this week as well as this track.

I just said that is is looking very likely that the rules will change, so be prepared. The rules are not officially changed until the poll closes next Wednesday. The whole reason I offered the third option was because there were several complaints about the fairness of the brackets in this round. I'm just giving you guys what you wanted.

i know its my fault that i submitted early, but i think i would have waited longer or really kept examining it. i couldnt find anything else wrong with it when i submit it, nor do i have any plans on changing it around. i'm happy with how it is, BUT for those people who didn;t take the time and effort to make a very good ride, i think its unfair because at first they were going against 2 people, and that just shot up to however many people are signed up.

No, its not unfair. You made a ride for the contest, and thats your contest entry. You don't even deserve to make it to the next round if you didn't make the best coaster you could within the time frame allowed. And a change of opponents doesn't change how good your track is, maybe you shouldn't have underestimated the difficulty of the contest.
