This doesn't exactly happen in parks, but I find it annoying when 8-10 year-olds on YouTube comment on POVs that they went on this ride when they were x years old. Does anyone really care?

^+1

This one guy replied to a comment on a Kingda Ka POV that went like "I went on this when I was 8 years old and I wasn't even scared at all" with (and this sums up how I feel about these comments) "OMG did your mom give you a biscuit?"

Cedar Point's visual scan, while it takes a few extra seconds, is more effective and built in to their checking, and they still don't delay any extra time in dispatching.

Is that some new thing this year? They tried to do some "scanning" crap than ended up being stupid head movements where nobody looked at the train. That lasted about a week and then nobody did it anymore thank god.

^That's normal here at Gadv. They have to physically look around the station twice before dispatching each train

People blocking the entrance to the ride. This happens to me all the time. Usually it's because the measuring pole and/or test seat are located too close to the queue entrance.

Visual Scans have proven infective in diminishing repetition in accidents. After working a ride for a while the operator does the scan out of habit and because he is required to not because he is actively looking for something. They have done some studies on this with some pretty interesting results, including one crew that took 45 minutes to figure out an inflatable sheep placed on a transfer table was slowly being inflated each cycle.

I just remembered another one: bees or wasps flying close to the queue or station, particularly when I'm in the middle of the line or near the front. It freaks me out and if it flies near me, too bad. Getting away from it would mean losing my place in line. Staying still works too and is advised but it feels so unnatural for me.

Forcefully having to take seats with other riders, even if the line is nearly empty.

Now hear me out on this one, I don't see why you would have to sit with an absolute stranger if there is no effect in capacity with doing so. If the ride is packed with a long wait, or if the trains are 3-4 seats per row, I can see it being a bit more reasonable. But when you want to have a 2 seat row to yourself on a nearly empty ride, you should be allowed to sit alone, rather than ushered to sit with a group of strangers.

At SFNE, I was almost forced to take a seat with 'whales' on the gauntlet (Wild Mouse). Anyone who's ridden a wild mouse knows that the seats themselves are cramped, and the laterals on the hairpin turns are pretty brutal. In a nearly empty line (Only about 15 people in queue) The Ride Op wouldn't give me an option to sit alone, and decided to pair me up with one of the heaviest looking people I have ever seen. I knew my life was at stake if I were to strap myself in, suffocation and probably a cracked rib. So I had to take a sacrifice and leave the queue.

Like I said earlier, I looked at the train less than when I didn't have to do that garbage.

Not really a total pet peeve, but I wish parks would have longer and more varied soundtracks, instead of looping ten songs for a day

^^ Hahaha, just imagine one song needs about 4 minutes. 15 songs an hour, 360 a day. Like 10 songs played every 40 minutes. Count up to 180 tunes... half a day! Almost 18 loops in total! Needs at least 18 different CDs!

Or just cramp the cd full, up to it's 80 minutes limit. Now you only need 9 different CDs

Fast pass, fast lane, whatever it is, is annoying. The only places I've not minded it was Disneyland, where everyone has an opportunity to use the lanes by just having a ticket. Six Flags is the worst culprit, though. I was at Six Flags St. Louis on that spinning coaster (Pandemonium?) and the ride ops didn't even realize what they were supposed to do with the fast passers. It took them about two minutes of signing forms and actually getting them into the car before anything moved.

Cedar Point and Kings Island weren't as bad, but I still don't like the fast lanes.

-Rides ops that take their sweet time when loading a train: *cough* Six Flags *cough*
-Annoying modern pop music being played in the queue line ad nauseam: no explanation needed.

I think so, especially for Dragster. They will literally step onto the train, and look down the chassis for stuff, then look behind and everything. It really doesn't take too much extra time and it is way more effective than anything Six Flags does.
