It's hard to say. They'd have to push really hard through the tough weather conditions that the Midwest Winter provides. I'm still thinking 2018 for full completion of the ride. Note that doesn't necessarily mean operation.

Looks like the turn around and more of the lift hill have bern removed. Also the station track is in place.

I just want them to keep the former Mean Streak's layout! Also respect the way Mean Streak had! :)

** BREAKING NEWS**

TRACK HAS BEEN PLACED ON MEAN STREAK

In other words about an announcement, IAPPA is coming up either this month or next, we could possibly see an announcement there for the ride?

Hopefully RMC doesn't mess up the ride duration. I'm guessing the ride time is cut in half at least.

But why would you guess that? The majority of RMC conversions(all but Twisted Colossus and Iron rattler) only took out a few hundred feet of track. Plus this will have a bigger budget and probably a bigger height increase than all the others from the look of that lift.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Given that I've seen a few other reports that RMC has a major announcement at IAAPA this year, I'm guessing it's pretty likely Mean Streak will be announced there. Cedar Point might also do a separate announcement around that same time as well to help sell passes as Christmas presents.

Given that the existing I-Box conversions only lost 20-30% of the original duration, I highly doubt that will be the case. Knowing Cedar Point, the ride will very likely break records, and I can't see them not going for the longest hybrid coaster title. My guess is the new ride will likely have a duration around 2:45.

Here are all the current comparisons (rough estimates on time rounded to the nearest 0:05)

Colossus: 2:30 each side
TC: 3:40 for both sides.

Rattler: 3:00
Iron Rattler: 2:00

Texas Giant: 2:50
NTG: 2:05

Medusa: 2:00
MSC: 1:24

Roar: 1:50
Joker: 1:35

You're right rcdude. For the most part the loss is about 30%. But that 60% of trackwork is also doing a LOT of crawling through tight tiny twists and banks which adds to ride duration. The previous models either spent time up high with views of the surrounding area or down low at much higher speeds. So realistically we might see 60% of what Mean Streak was but I'm not optimistic.

Meanwhile I'm over here rooting for it to be burnt down like hot topic lol. The ride would be SO MUCH BETTER if they tackled it from scratch.

It would be so funny if they renamed it to something fire-related.

I think they'll go with a mining themed name. Something like Prospector or something.
