When do you guys think CP will announce this thing already? We all know it's happening unless it's some really late April fool's joke.

That's a joke right? What complaint could they have possibly given?

They should only be allowed to complain about the coaster being built too far away from them.

As soon as the hype dies down. Now they pretty much have free advertisement about it. I give it about 1-1,5 month or so before announcements start going out.

Calm down guys it's just a Larson Loop.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

With Mean Streaks retirement comes the fact that RMC killed off all of the Dinn Coasters with a lift over 100 ft.

And In my opinion thats a good thing. Also, is there any sort of news on the construction going on? We haven't heard anything for a month.

Agreed that a 200 ft RMC would be awesome.

Wow. By the way it looks not only will the lift be steeper, but it will be taller. I am hoping this hits the 200 mark. I can't wait to go when it reopens!

Based on the angle difference I'd say this easily reaches 200 feet assuming it utilizes the entire lift structure length. I can do some basic trig on the photos after I'm done working to verify and even estimate a final height.

OK here we go:

References used:

Horizontal distances obtained from google maps, height of initial first drop gained from RCDB. The biggest variables here are the new lift start point (I think I have the right spot) and the assumption that the drop will remain in the same place.

I'm fairly certain the lift will be between 200 and 225 feet, which means there are going to be height, speed, and possibly steepness records broken here in typical CP style.

For those who don't understand that concept you explained it fairly well. I was merely remarking on the knowledge superiority complex that seems to hover around you lol.

Trigonometry: sine, cosine, and tangent... We often use them for NL1/2 track and park plans. :)

200 feet looks more possible now. They only thing that worries me is that it will cause this to be a lot more spread out then most RMC's. On the positive side, it would probably allow them to use the full layout and not have to cut out stuff.
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

I wouldn't worry about that. Wicked Cyclone actually drops all of the way to the ground, and it never did in its original incarnate, and Iron Rattler does the same (man that ride's original drop must have been brutal). Twisted Colossus and Texas Giant all have a double up or a mini hill to eat up space created by the steeper drop. I'll just assum Iron Streak or whatever it'll be called just won't have that double up.

Plus the original Mean Streak profile was so so ramp. The lift hill was just about the steepest track anywhere on that ride.
