LuckyK, I think this might be one of the few times we actually agree on something. The only thing I disagree is the nowhere Pa thing. While dorney is a little out of the way it is also easily accessible to 2 major metropolitan areas, one of them being the biggest in the entire country. I think with more agressive marketing and perhaps if Allentown, pa wasn't so grimy of a city, Dorney would stand a chance at being a major park in the chain.
What are these for?

Seeing as there's only 2 Dive Machines in America, I gladly welcome one closer to me than Virginia or Florida.

I hope it has a loop - RCT2 had dive coasters with loops but they've never been fully realised due to spatial constraints it would seem!

^ Out of all the dives I think this has the best chance of getting one. Whatever it is, it's going to be a Skyline changer and CP does love its loops. Especially since Gatekeeper didn't get one. Just please god don't make it red or blue. Or if it is Blue theme it to Demon Drop!

True about Dorney, but that would put them up against SFGADV which is Cp's direct competition and therefore crowding CP's market as well. I think they are trying to keep Dorney just under the radar for PA, they haven't really seemed to want to branch out of state too far for that park, even though I'd say it is a flagship park as well.

There are only a few parks in the country on Cedar Point's level, and Great Adventure is the only other "mega park" in the area. i don't think Dorney would be able to rise to that level without becoming direct competition to King's Island and Cedar Point as well. These parks are built to draw from an extremely large market base to compensate for other attractions, lack of other attractions nearby, remoteness, seasonal availability or other things that hinder tourism. Even with King's Island, I'd say Banshee was added not only as a replacement for SOB (look how long it was SBNO before they finally acted) but also to keep KI relevant once KK reopened instead of waiting until they gained momentum and playing catch up. The only answer to new and exciting "over there" is new and exciting "here". And Diamondback's hype was starting to fade pretty fast.

But yeah in actual reply I don't think Cedar Fair would poise three parks to compete on the level of just one of their competitors so close together. I think that Dorney would crowd Ohio's market competing with New Jersey

If CP does make a dive coaster, they have to make sure its a record breaker, or at least put it in a location thats right for a dive coaster.
Still don't think CP will get a dive coaster, but we'll see.

I don't see CP actually building a Dive Coaster. If they are, where the hell would they put it?

Don't say that the park is teasing... The Dive and Dark ideas recently have been purely speculation from "experts" (Notice "" on experts).

You work the ride and it happens Deere. Gatekeeper is supposed to be one of the better lift walks in the park. Unfortunately TTD doesn't let you in the elevator unless you're like the jesus of maintenance and I don't think you get to work the MF evac cart either but I'm not sure about that.

Also I'd abide by Coasterdave's advice. You never quite know what they're going to do unless you're on the decision team, and even them curveballs can be thrown. Remember the test paint on Mantis? Was the silver, green, purple, or new yellow they slapped on it as test colors even used at all? No. And before that everyone was 100% positive they would be getting a dark ride.

^ Very good point.
Remember, Sandusky Register really was the only one to report on this. I know more jumped on but it still makes me question where the original info came from.

Haha I've had a lot of people say they are jealous. Gatekeeper has an AMAZING lift walk. @Deere839 at Cedar Point, ride host are trained as downtime respond-ers. Meaning we must know what to do in-case of an emergency or typical downtime. In order to be trained for it, you have to do a 'lift walk'; as well as going up the blocks and brake runs. There are a LOT of steps. I know it's off topic, but I'll see if I can find pics from when I was up there in 13'.

Back on topic, Sandusky Register is notorious for making up rumors. Honestly, CP is doing a GREAT job with keeping 16' quiet.

I regret not taking pictures from the Mantis lift walk. It's very odd seeing the entirety of Iron Dragon whirling around through the floor under your feet, and it's also nice that it's approximately smack in the center of the park. Also the best MF lift+drop combo pics are taken from the Rougarou block brake and nowhere else.

And when we are eventually aware of what it'll be, all of the details will be totally wrong until the announcement anyways lol.
