We weren't quite done with our New for 2008 announcements back in January.

As you know, we usually have more tricks up our sleeves (our sleeves are long today, as it's snowing and freezing).

We?????????re adding another exciting attraction to the peninsula and it's making its debut in Challenge Park.

Remember that photo we showed you a while back?

It's Skyscraper ????????? a 160-foot-tall structure that closely resembles a propeller. On each end of the structure are two seats, for a total of four riders maximum.

As the giant structure spins 360 degrees, riders will be flipped upside down and all around as they move at 55 mph!

The entire ride experience will last two minutes.

As a bonus, riders can purchase a video of their on-ride experience. It certainly makes for a great souvenir after a visit to Cedar Point.

From what we've been told, this ride produces a pretty good scare factor, so muster up some courage and take a ride on Skyscraper this summer at Challenge Park!

Heck, RipCord is expensive and that was worth at least one ride. Even if it is over priced, it will probably still be worth a ride. Can you imagine - 160 feet in the air, upside-down?

I never said it wouldn't be fun. I watched one of these things in action while I was in Orlando a while back, and it looked like a blast. I just like poking fun at Cedar Point because they owe me for putting up with all the whiny guests yelling at me about the food prices.

cjd they probably would have a point if they knew the truth about the pepsi. [lol]

Its a good fit for the challenge park. It seems like a cool enough ride to spend some money on.

It's sounds to me like a really low capacity booster ride:

The 8 people version.

Or does anyone else have a better picture of what the ride is going to be?

Yeah, it's the same but only 2 seats on each end. It was moved from ValleyFair (and Dorney, before that).

I'm surprised and think it may be a bad move for Cedar Point as well but the Challenge Park did need an addition. I just looked it up on YouTube, the one in ValleyFair as mentioned by 'Freddie', I've never seen one of these in person but from the video it looks terrifying - in a fun way!

looks fun, but still a stupid move, if dorney and valleyfair had to get rid of it for, proabably, its low capacity, i cant imagine what cedar fair is thinking, i guess it was cheap?

Once again, it doesn't need to have high capacity. Challenge park isn't a section of the amusement park part of Cedar Point, it's a separate place with pay for ride attractions.

blackpool pleasure beach had 2 of the 8 people versions on either side of the main brige in the middle of the park called the spin doctor. they were really fun rides but even with the 2 of them operating at full capacity just a short que and you was waiting ages.
however they have unfortunetly been removed for infusion.
i think it will be a cool ride but i wouldent pay for it
