It's true, I didn't think about the OTSR's, that would suck.

I think Cedar Point can safely make a record-breaking woodie. Tallest fastest, longest, and with multiple inversions. Not being back-breakingly painful would also be a good touch. Son of Beast was doomed from the start, but the premise was good, I think. And if they can make one inversion, they can make more.

The only problem with that is obviously space.

In 2010, we'll be celebrating an attraction's 17th birthday. The ride hasn't asked for much, so we'll just go ahead and not make it a big deal.

Those crazy teen years, I tell ya.

For some reason they found it important to mention Raptor's 17th birthday?

Is Raptor the only ride that's turning 17?? IS there maybe a smaller ride that was built the same year?

If not can anyone think of a way Raptor might be linked to a new ride if at all??? Now that I think of it...they must have had some reason for not mentioning which ride it was or going in depth with it.

The other thing I did thing of that was mentioned was possibly if it's an Inta-woodie the possibility of having an inversion to hold that record.

And also Vekoma Boomerangs had Cobra Rolls even though they have a different element name...that's why I said invert.

Yeah, I was just about to say that he was wrong as well, but you got it first.

Sorry, my mistake, as usual. :)

I have never seen any amusement park company produce such great suspense or anticipation over the announcement of a park addiction.

I really think we'll be seeing a new ride here, not a re-vamp of MF. And I also am very supportive of the theories of the Inta-woodie or the Wing Rider that tracksix mentioned.

The Wing Rider theory was actually a very good catch. There's only one... they could be bringing this ride type back to the horizon?

^I agree. Though the 5 Intamin list mentioned before had been filled by Intimidator, it may be a Cedar Point contract deal, not Cedar Fair. It's only 4/5 if you count just Cedar Point Intamin's, and therefore leaving one spot open for an Intamin wooden coaster.

I really wish people would try to read the entire forum before posting something that they think is new info.

Yeah, it's just CP, Not any CF park, that contract would have been finished a few years ago if it was any CF park.

Well that's good then. It leaves the fifth spot open for another Intamin. That's good news!

^ Thats true CP does have more than 5 Intamins, but I dont believe DT and Jr. Gemini are under the contract that people are talking about.

They aren't. CP has a deal with Intamin and I believe it was their NEXT 5 coasters would all be Intamins. As far as I know that was made in about 1997 when MF was under planning. MF, WT, TTD, MAV, and now one more to complete the deal.

Quote from their Twitter page

Them Canfield's & McGee's will still be feudin' down river next year...

Which I guess means they won't be removing the excursions themeing.
Doesn't reveal much but it means they aren't clearing that land to all the hopefulls that thought they were.

Next year is 2010, 1993 they installed Snake River Falls, which at the time of construction was the tallest, steepest and fastest flume ride.
