Yea I think it's good that they finally got a new flume after taking WWL out...but why did they need to have all the talk about coaster companies if it wasn't a coaster...and was this thing made by Hopkins??? Or does anyone know???

My fault it does say Intamin in the release...sorry.

IDK Whyte Lightning is a nickname for moonshine so I think this is what that meant. If you go to whytelightning.com it links you to the blog page that announces it.

?????????Shoot the Rapids will instantly become a family favorite,????????? said John Hildebrandt, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point. ?????????Our guests wanted another option to cool off on warm summer days. We listened, and Shoot the Rapids will deliver the perfect combination of refreshment, thrills and new memories at Cedar Point.?????????

What a kick in the nuts. I would have been less pissed if a Rick roll video popped up. Think of the countless people that are going to choke on water because they fell asleep on this thing. My eight year old neice just called me and says it looks boring. We've just been punked by Cedar Fair. It hurts.

It doesn't even have a big drop with not a steep incline and not a lot of speed and doesn't get you that wet. Oh, and what's the knowledge in putting the bigger drop first? You're supposed to build suspense..

If CP had the money, they could've made it a really thrilling flume ride, but they had to keep it to the "family," and what Final Force said about her 8 year old niece, it's boring. So is this really a family ride? You decide.

okay, i'm actually kinda happy with this! deep down i had a feeling they wouldnt go with a roller coaster. that's just our spoiled coaster brains telling us what we wanna hear lol... HOWEVR cp had no right to go so overboard with anticipation build-up. thats the main disgrace taking place here XD

Tbh that ride doesn't really deserve a rise of anticipation.

Should be called "Shoot The Reps". They said the people asked for this? who did they ask one of the 63 people getting off snake river falls for the entire day.

Now I have to tell my niece that the boogeyman that lives under her bed told me the wrong info. Do you think I want to do that? CF has forced my hand.

Why would they start with the largest hill and end with the smallest? weird.

^ Exactly what I said. It's a really pathetic ride and probably won't even get you that wet, and is, in my opinion, a bit of a waste of the money being put into the project.

If you watch the video interview with Dick Kinzel you can see random people from the GP just walking by while he reveals the most hyped ride in the parks history outloud for everyone to hear. They dont even look in his direction. lol. They probably filmed it in 2004 anyway.

Okay, very funny CF. Now before mobs start showing up at the gates, tell everyone that lightning strikes twice because you're rebuilding Mean Streak from scratch to make it a steel hybrid wood coaster called Whyte Lightning...wait. Where are you going?

^^ That's just sad. And after re-watching the animation a couple times, I've reached the point of the cycle - acception. All of a sudden I feel like making a western themed ride [lol]

Let's face it guys. This is the REAL Intimidator. Intimidator85. Is anyone else weeping uncontrollably right now?

Financial Disaster Transport was the original title, but they couldnt fit it on the little boats.

^ I'm not crying [lol]. But yeah, and to think that most coaster nerds thought that Intimidator 305 was the let down.

The general public went crazy when they removed WWL, it was the only "water" ride in the park that families could ride and not get completely soaked. The GP made it very clear they wanted this, and this will be a great addition to the park. Is it what I wanted, no, but I don't run the place.

He does have a point...but hey at least now it's 4 years between coasters which means next year SHOULD (knock on wood) be a coaster.
