It makes sense for what they are doing...it's just not what we all exactly hoped for.

So now here is the question, was this supposed Intamin contract for Roller Coasters or Just rides in general!

This makes me soooo happy!

Haha, I just read some post a few pages back that said a family, flume or anything other than a roller coaster would be bad for the park that only attracts adrenaline junkies...Sure.

Anyways, I don't think it looks too bad. I kinda had a feeling that it wasn't going to be a coaster and think it'll fit in perfectly in that spot.

With the announcements of Intimidator305 at KD and Intimidator at Carowinds, I thought for sure Cedar Fair was saving the best for last, but I guess not. Instead they saved the best for second.[:D]

Dont get me wrong, I still think this is a good addition to CP just not what we all had hoped for.

Some of you are taking this way too seriously. It's a water ride that could be somewhat thrilling. I think CP is trying to make the park more family oriented, and this definitely helps. In my opinion, the park has too many coasters. Take out a few, put in some nice scenery/family rides, and boom... a better park.

To be honest, I like this addition. It almost makes me want to jump for joy. But not quite..

I'm not saying it's a bad addition for the park...but you said it will make a better park???...When you win best park for over 10 years now...if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Next year they will build another right next to it so lightning can strike twice and they can race.

I still think something we don't know about is up...why would they have that whyte lightning website??? If you go to it...it redirects you to the Shoot the Rapids page. Does anyone else find it odd that they made a teaser website just to have it direct you back to CP's site??? Something isn't quite adding up here.

It will make a better park! More options that the entire family can ride. And also keep in mind, you don't win best park based on roller coasters, alot more goes into then that, such as water rides, flat rides, guest services, park operations, etc. Adding a family friendly water ride I think, would make the best park more appealing to the average family, thus giving it a better chance to win again. Also, when the golden tickets were started, they had a quality log flume, currently they do not, and this will solve that.

I was saddened when they removed white water landing, I do enjoy log flumes. I like them because I can ride it with anybody and not get soaked, that can't be said for there other water rides.

I guess its not that bad... Not the best but if the water effects do wat their supposed to do and dont just sit there, this could be a fun ride. Water rides are always fun when your with your friends.

I don't think Cedar Point realizes that Ohio's May is now much colder than it used to be, so from May to about mid june and from mid september to closing...... NO ONE IS RIDING WATER RIDES

I'm still waiting for their next post...
Maybe they have something else up their sleeve.
Regardless, looks pretty neat, at least some of the families will hit that, shortening lines to other rides.

Now that I'm looking at it all, it just has to be fake. 'Shoot the Rapids'? They've been using names like that for a hundred goddamned years. Too lame even for this kind of ride. All the hype and the 'Whyte Lightning' stuff, there must be something else going on.

There better be, for John Hildebrandt's sake.

The only thing i wish they had done with this ride is Have the smaller drop come first, then the big one for the finale. IMO its kinda strange that they did it the other way around.

The name was just cedar fair having fun with an employee whos name is whyte. Carowinds used White Lightning for a teaser for something. They figured they would take that, alter it to have fun with an employees name and use that. Its another name for moonshine also which plays a part in the ride.

Also, its not the dumbest name ever. Infact, its the best part of the ride since its a peice of Cedar Points history. It was the original mill ride that was torn down for White Water Landing. So theyve brought back an old ride in a new form. I like that. Its nostalgic.


As for the ride:

YAWN. Its not even a GOOD Shoot the Rapids. I mean really, floatin around a boat goin around turns is fairly bore-o. The one waterfall that gets you will be fun. But definitly not even a GOOD attempt at a Shoot the Rapids.
