I gues you could call them elements, but like, is there anyway you can make your own? I would make a 3 long twisting turn. So any of you guys know if this is possible?

To my knowledge, it's immpossible, but I'm no RCT2 expert.

custom track elements... I don't know... I do know that when a track is decompiled, it results in the removal of all the bitmaps, and 2 other files. One has to do with ride parameters suck as how tall somthing needs to be to go over it, etc... bit the other (it might be a .bin, i dont remember) i have no clue what the use is...It probably has to do with the elements a ride can use. But i don't know if it is a list of the pre-existing elements, and out of those which the ride can use, or if the elements are re-coded for each ride... actually... it almost makes sense for it to have an element name, then a list of the used bitmaps, and how they are used for that element... I do not know how to go about decoding that file though...

But all of this could be wrong, and elements could be hard coded into rct2.exe... who knows. You might want to ask someone like AE if it could be decoded, he might know...

Anything can be done, it's the degree of difficulty that matters. If you can make custom scenery and modify the behavior of certain cars on different tracks I'm sure you can do it, but you'd need to also make a corresponding "car image" for that element (not easy).

the corresponding car bitmap would be easy... that how we make custom rides... custom sceanery is made possible by not hard coding sceneary into rct.exe... but new elements would be hard, because no body fully understands the harded coded parts of a ride... cuz nobody wants to go through allt he code for rct... lol.

Making your own coaster ride is easier than adding onto or editing one, because you have to follow suit of what is already there. Otherwise it'll look awkward.

There is no way to add new track elements into the existing RCT1 or RCT2 games without making major changes to the game engine. All of the coaster elements are contained within the game's program files and are not part of a separate file containing the elements.

It is possible to make those changes, but you would need to modify several files to allow for those changes to work properly within the game's constraints. Plus, any changes would most likely make the game even more error trapper prone than it already is.

But, you can make new cars/trains for existing RCT2 tracks. This has been done by several people at this time, ja227 being the latest to do so.
