Delirium Logo_4c.jpg

Get ready to defy gravity on Kings Dominion???s new ride, Delirium. The thrill ride will be located in the Candy Apple Grove section of the park and is set to open in the spring of 2016.

Delirium is a powerful, spinning pendulum on which 40 riders will be strapped into their seats, facing outward on a giant ring. As their feet dangle, they begin slowly swinging back and forth while the ring starts to rotate. The ride quickly gains momentum and before they know it, riders are getting swirling views of the park. On Delirium, guests soar to a height of 115 feet at a maximum arc angle of 120 degrees.

Delirium will delight thrill seekers of all ages as they fly through the air, experiencing gravity defying hang time.
???The addition of Delirium reflects our commitment to providing exciting and thrilling family experiences for our guests,??? says Pat Jones, Vice President and General Manager of Kings Dominion. ???We pride ourselves on being home to a variety of rides and attractions that offer something for all generations to enjoy. Delirium will make a great addition to our already thrilling collection of rides.???

Coolio. Now it can be even more like a bizarro version of Kings Island. The logo is slightly different. I think Delirium might be a misnomer since I remember it feeling more like a smooth giant tire swing than a spinny pukey ride.

I just remember these rides are really fun. Rode the one at KI last week, nothing like Max-Air, but still really fun!

isn't MaXair and Delirium at KI the same ride? Black Widow is my favorite because it stops spinning while at max swing several times to reverse direction, but "Freak Out" at The IX Center is by far more intense. I do love the KMG's much better.

I feel like the last few years chains have been rehashing old rides 've been over since I was a kid as brand new attractions. Even Skyhawk and PCW reminds me of an updated Flight simulator from KI

EDIT: If we're rehashing old rides, floorless giant Zipper pleez

Hopefully the riders can get mild rotations when it's at full swings! :)

The KMG XXL models look insane. I'm hoping one of those turns up on the UK fair circuit sometime soon.

I hope they'll add more of these at other Cedar Fair parks if this ride ends up being a success.

Technical Park Street Fighters and well run Huss regular frisbees (Canobie) are the best of these. I don't like the huge ones.

I'd like them more if they were facing in instead of out, but still they're some of my favorite rides out of the ones I've ridden.

It may a bit offtopic, but if you like the KMG XXL swings...

..this is maybe also for you. Imagine: swinging, rotating and at least making loopings in a height of almost 65 meter :D The first of it??s kind will be named "Infinity".

Is it me or do the KMG Fireballs feel more forceful than the giant frisbees?

The Tech Park ones are even more forceful than the KMGs. They're like a Freak Out that runs way too fast.

^ This is really sick in two meanings! :D

@Magu78: Outstanding model - are you going to adjust the swinging speed so the ride doesn't pull too many positive g's at the lowest spot? I assume that typical Giant Frisbees reach 4.5g's!

As for the ride name, "Insanity" is far better than "Infinity"! + :D

It also appears that they'll be getting a new LED sign here.

I don't know about KMG's (or other Huss') but maXair pulls 6.3Gs when at full speed.

MaxiPad is a champion. Favorite non-coaster ride on the planet.

^^^ Wow is MaXair as forceful as Gold Reef City's Tower Of Terror is? One "I kind of doubt that intensity." stunning fact... that I didn't know!

Cool little addition, although, I thought it'd be taller like its Kings Island counterpart?
