I dunno how Ole actually did it, but one could assume that "DirectX algorithms" were used to create the "water object", while OpenGL as usually was used to render said water object. The keyword simply could be
"function library", so it seems.
Also, again I do smell the usual
"higher version number is better! gimme!! gimme!!!" debate with this one. Each time some company comes up with some whacky PR announcements, multiple peeps fall for that hot air, instead of once thinking about how to fully utitlize and exploit the existing stuff. In case you got a brain, try to use that! Now!! Else, condolences...
I'm sure Ole will utilize the very best of both DX and GL for whatever upgrades and new versions of NL, just like he already has brilliantly done with every existing one.
So why ask about something you don't even know about how to be best used for NL? [;)]
