I guess that tire at the top will be screeching a ton and burn out pretty soon.

Cool to see they increased the launch speed as well. But I'm still bummed out about the missing top hat. That was beside the launch the best part of the ride.

I think the tyre is there for the one in a billion case: A stall exactly on the top of the loop. So the wheel can easily push the train forward, without getting up there somehow and pushing/pulling it in the right direction.

Considering the diameter of the thing and how the ride pretty much burns through its speed as fast as humanely possible that seems like a plausible explanation.

According to RCDB, Dodonpa has been renamed Do-Dodonpa.

I really don't know what they were thinking.

Yess, the hangtime does look awesome at the top!! Also happy they somehow made the g-force of the launch even higher, I hope S&S build some more launch coasters like this after seeing they can up it even more.. I'll never forget the punch hypersonic XLC gave... Still I feel the airhill is a better element vs the loop.

That wheel in the loop is some sort of anti-roll back. It might have a motor attached to it as well maybe in case the speed is not quite there?

It wouldn't surprise me if the ride is designed to burn out its own speed as much as possible and the tire is there as a failsafe to prevent rollbacks or the super unlikely event of an upside-down "valley" from sudden winds or whatever else.

Shoulder vests, really? Why?

Good thing the launch looks just as good as normal.

New launch has been estimated to be about 3.75 G's!

Imagine a "horizontal" launch done at almost 4g's or at the max g-force of a Space Shot! INSANE!

If the 3,75g is true. Damn. Anyone want to do a quick calculation? 1,56sec over 0 to 180km/u.
I know with the old stats: 172km/u in 1.8sec, was an acceleration of 2.8g.

It does look they changed over the entire station layout. I see entrance gates now on the right side of the train.
