I'm actually going to finish this one, I promise. For real this time.

Love it! Almost makes me want to get on with my custom supported wooden coaster... or not.

This one has been small and practical enough to do everything I want to it and not hate it yet, unlike the GCI which is intricate as fu.ck or the pier ride which is just a joke. I haven't gone completely crazy with detail but I think it's coming out good considering the amount of time actually going into it. I basically work on this ride for the 20 minutes I have between getting out of the shower and going to work.

I can't call this a recreation of the real Flyer Comet because it isn't close to being accurate. Mine is a bit taller and faster (nothing unreasonable, like 78' instead of 70', and 45mph instead of 35-40), and the track length is a bit shorter because the real thing is more narrow and elongated than mine. The real ride also didn't use footings for a lot of the supports, and most of the ride lacked intermediate ledgers, so the track was just laid on the ground, thus it was much more pumpy and 'rough' than mine. Mine is being built with more modern circle-straight shaping. I'm thinking of mine as a modern rebuild similar to Zippin Pippin.

I really like how it rides in the sim, and while I expect to get bashed for it being 'slow' and 'forceless', I think it's quite realistic.

Haven't had much time to work on this lately, but over the last couple days I've been trying to get the lifthill done. This is probably the most complex part of the ride support-wise, some awkward crossovers involved.

You must be some sort of hard core user to have the patience to do all the wooden supports by hand. Lovin' the antique feel.
I already saw pictures of this on the bizarro IRC (my nickname for the chat room). Sorry for even suggesting it might be wooden jet coaster. Kinda reminds me of a wild mouse.

Its this as if it were being built now, like Zippin Pippin. And this is nothing compared to the GCI that I'll never finish, that has over 15,000 supports all hand built.

Sorry for the late comment, but I've gotta say this looks great. The supports are phenomenal and the layout is original. It almost reminds me of Zippin Pippin! Nice job man.
