only up to 480P, not to be an a** but it doesnt look that good. but the wii is fun.

man i want this game, but im just gonna hold out on a pc port if there is one.

I still don't understand what is so great about the game. I played GTA 3 and Vice City (and seen San Andreas), and they were quite boring. This looks like the same thing.

I love Vice City, i play it often, SA was a bit too large to really go for the 100%, but the missions were fun.

i have to agree..
i bought gta 3 just before christmas for the pc.. at first it was somewhat exciting and then i got about 2/3 through the thing and got sick of it.. went out and bought a used ps1 so i could play final fantasy 7 again..

I'm chose the 360 over the PS3 for several reasons though.

Main 2 reasons:
Friends and Games:
360 at the time, and even still, has a better selection of excusive titles. The only game exclusive to PS3 i could even care about is Uncharted, but suprisingly most ps3 owners I talk to don't even own that console's best game.

360 has Gears, Halo, Mass Effect, Fable, Bioshock, and many other exclusives backing the system.

Beyond that, most other games come out on multi-platform like Rockbamd & Call of Duty 4, and they play just as well on the xbox as they do on the ps3.

But really, when it comes down to it, along with the games, most my friends have an xbox, so I can play with them, also, the 360 is just hands down the sexier console in both the exterior appearance as well as the interface.

Also, blue ray is completely pointless if you don't have a Hi-Def tv or if you have a rear-projection tv.. cuz those tv have sh!tty image quality regaurdless of wether its HD or not.

really? how much better will it make the original game? and for an extra price too

and most people these days, at least modaratly well off kids in europe (which most of us are) have access to a HD TV

If you get a crap rear projection, it will look like crap. But if you look around there are a lot of great looking ones out there.

This game will probably end up like Oblivion did. It's simple- massive worlds require a LOT of space. The Ps3 was able to look better in Oblivion because it has blu-ray. The 360 version didn't look bad, but you could definitely tell that it was limited.

What I'm reallly looking forward to is online play, and it's pretty surprising no one's mentioned it yet. There's a clip of two people playing online, and one is flying a helicopter while the other is jumping out onto a freeway with an RPG[devilish]

Not trying to start a console war. But the 360 is holding GTAIV back, because a regular dvd disc only holds 9 gigs, while a Blu-Ray disc holds 50. If this was exclusive to PS3 it would be so much better.

Not really...Plus ide prefer to avoid the RROD during gameplay.

There any evidence to show that a PS3 game uses anywhere near the 50 GB of store able space? It could be a matter of less compression between the two games due to the PS3 not needing to make its files "x" size to store on a DVD.

If they were making the game for the Wii also, and they intended to have the same gameplay between the three, then the Wii would bring the 360 and PS3 down, but thats not the case.

Back on topic, this could by far be the game of the year. As the day counts closer and more information is being released, it makes me even more excited with every update. I have my pre-order receipt carefully tucked away and it's ready for Monday the 28th at midnight [:D]

Same here, if GTAIV isnt Game of the year, MGS4 or Fallout 3 will be. But GTAIV will last longer than both of them.

I plan on getting a PS3 for Christmas this year, I'm going to save up and hopefully it will be cheaper then so I can spend more money on the games.

Theres a special bundle coming out June 12th with MGS4 and DS3

Since there will be episodic content, I wonder how long it will take for it to make it to the PS3?

prob longer than the 360

if Microsoft payed so much for those two *episodes* of content im use the ps3 will/mite have different stuff... which means longer

Well, in interviews with the game's producer, they were saying each episode would be no less then 10 hours long and they intend on making a quality product which people will make people feel like they spent their cash well.

I believe that PS3 will be missing out on something, but only time will tell.

Not to mention 360 is getting GoW2 this fall which I would say is MGS main competetion, and then you have the 3 RPGs like Fable, Lost Odyssy (which has already come out) and Too Human. Then we're also getting Ninja Gaiden II as an exclusive.

Also, the 360 has made quite a bit of progress on game compression, so we'll be seeing bigger games make it way onto the 360.

If you like the PS3 and that's your thing, I say go for it. But to me, the 360 has more of the kind of games I like, and I'm happy I have it.

Both the 360 and PS3 are going to have price cuts again in the fall.
