I am a newbie to the whole 3ds, stuff, and am just finishing the art of trackwork. But my tracks need 3ds, and the 3d editor is very complex to me. Could anyone desicribe how to make 3d objects using just textures already in the editor. If you can, thanx.

Object creator has some textures you can use and serves as a very basic modeler. I recommend learning a bit of anim8or, and at all times, try to model as efficiently as possible, connecting the points and not letting ugly overlapping faces create flickering. You'll get it later, just have a look at those programs and their help files, they should help you a bit with getting started. And yes, they're free, except object creator is shareware. Just download the free version of object creator, don't worry about the brushes limit as there are easy ways to get around it.

Also has anyone heard of the program Milkshape and does it work with NL? I know it works for RCT3.

If it exports to a 3ds then it obviously works with NL. Otherwise you might be able to first export it to a .ase in milkshape, then use bi-turn to convert it to a 3ds.
