Hi everyone! I'm a coaster and theme park enthusiast from Chicago, member of American Coaster Enthusiasts and up until a couple hours ago a member of Club TPR. I was banned from themeparkreview.com for the exchange below. If I was out of line, please let me know. I can be a jerk sometimes even though I don't mean to be.

ME:
I couldn't find a definitive statement on this anywhere else. Does anyone know what Disney's policy on line jumping is? It was my assumption that saving spots is not allowed, and if you leave the queue line for any reason you may not re-enter to meet up with your party except at the very back of the line. Can anyone confirm or clarify this?

ROBB:
I'm wondering why you're even asking this question? Common courtesy for other people would tell you that you are not entitled to leave the queue and come back for any reason at any time. This shouldn't even be a question on this forum.

ME:
I'm only asking to settle a debate I was having with other Disney fans. BTW everyone on this discussion board is in agreement on line etiquette. Why does it seem like I'm being attacked more by the people who agree with me than the people who disagree with me?

ROBB:
Maybe because you weren't clear on why you were asking? Don't be coming down on the rest of us when it's your fault you were clear in your original post. And really, who's attacking you???? Oh, and one more thing. If you're at Disney parks in August, WHY ARE YOU EVEN STANDING IN A LINE?!?!?! Don't you know there is plenty of ways to get FastPass+ and other tips and hints to avoid standing in long lines with your kids? Seriously, if you're telling me that you're standing in long lines out in the heat with your kids in August then your problems are MUCH bigger than figuring out how to take your kids to the bathroom.

ME:
Even the fast passes have lines, and people cut in them. We are perfectly fine with managing the heat and our bladders while waiting in line. I felt like I was being attacked because it seems like you don't even want this topic discussed here. Again, I'm not here to debate Disney line policy, just to find out what it is. Disney's website does not mention their policy on line jumping.

ROBB:
Really? The 10 or maybe 15 minutes you might wait in the FastPass line is a huge issue for you? Wow, sometimes people just shock me with the things they think are "problems." SMH

ROBB (after he banned me):After having to remove some "I'm above the rules no matter what you say" obnoxious posts by some people who have now found themselves banned from this forum (and we thank you for weeding yourselves out, hopefully your obnoxious attitude will also weed you out of some parks and the rest of us will never have to deal with you either) I will simply not tolerate people who cannot understand basic rules of visiting a theme park. I don't care if you're an annual passholder, a DVC member, a senior executive of some company, or whatever superstar you think makes you more entitled than the next person. The rules apply to EVERYONE!

When it comes to line lumping, the rules are very clear...

If you leave the line and come back, FOR ANY REASON, you are line jumping. If you are trying to justify your reason for doing it, you're just making excuses.

I don't think I can make it any clearer than that.

My policy is that if you were in line and had to go to the bathroom then you should be able to get back in as not everyone can wait in line for 2 hours (especially with kids) and not have a bladder explosion. Line cutting is unacceptable and shouldn't happen (I see fu*kboys and the desperate girls they go with cut in line at SFNE all the time).

Enjoy your stay here. It's a much better place.

I remember a tweet from him where he was having an argument with a woman about the prices of the annual passes

this was his tweet when she blocked him:

''Wow. I guess Grace didn't like that response and she blocked me! Oh, well! So much for using logic over drama! lol''

My response:

''Please tell me how many users you blocked?''

But I never got an answer, or maybe I did, I don't know, he blocked me.

You are with family now. I loathe Alvey to a level that makes me afraid of myself.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Paradox, I disagree with re-entry even in the case of "emergency" due to the potential for abuse. Perhaps if they had a "take a number" system, that would curb abuse and allow people to leave the line in case of an emergency. I was at Disneyland/California Adventure back in August and the abuse was rampant.

Is there anything you can do about people cutting in line? Talking to them doesn't always work I guess..

The best way to deal with line jumpers, in my opinion, is to video record them and report them.

Once again, Robb took it too far. I think he believed that you thought it was OK to cut the line, because you were debating with others, he twisted your words and blamed you.

Honestly, after reading it again, it makes no sense. You never once said you thought line jumping was ok, and he just exploded on you.

It's almost like the question was so simple and common sense, that he believed the only reason you asked was to justify line jumping for yourself. Again twisting words that you never said.

Point is, he is a Nazi and is unbelievable. I can promise you that if you had a conversation on this forum 5X worse than that convo with Robb, you still wouldn't be banned here. So no worries. Welcome to the site!

^This one said everything I was just trying to verbalize. I had to stop trying because I could not do it that well.

I feel you, it took me 10-15 minutes to write that post cause I couldn't get the words right.

Welcome, yeah I was banned from there too. So on fb, he posted the tallest fastest coaster in 2000 and showed Goliath from sfmm, and someone posted saying something like "Hey, wasn't Millennium Force was the tallest and fastest in 2000?" I also didn't know that Goliath opened before MF. Anyways, so Robb commented and was being rude to him for no reason. Then someone else commented saying "Robb, you don't have to be so mean." I liked that comment. And then the next day, I'm banned. Then I went on TPR made a topic and want to know what I did wrong and make sure this wasn't a mistake. He was so rude to me and being a smart aleck. He also said "You should know that liking someone's comment means you agree with what s'he's saying." Well duh, thanks for pointing out the obvious. What a butt. Then (Blocked).

Look in the SFOG thread like 20 pages back and guess who you'll find. This place is a refuge from Blobb. That website is a sinking ship. You're welcome here. I'm a part of the reason they don't have a chat there anymore.

1) robb needs to get off his high horse lol

2) while i do agree line jumping is a horrible act i do make exceptions especially if it is a child that is with their parents and said Child has been waiting patiently in line but obviously needs to use the restroom or someone needs a diaper change. I will allow 1 parent to escort the child to handle their business.

You're definitely not the only one who's been banned from TPR for questionable reasons. I was a pretty active member on the site from mid-2008 until May of this year (including joining ClubTPR, going on several tours and attending every So Cal event from 2009 onward), and despite never getting anything more than one or two warnings I got banned. The reason? I made a critical comment about Robb (not mean, just critical) on a FRIEND'S facebook page which was completely unrelated to TPR (though said friend was previously banned). I have probably 30 friends who experienced similar, and very few of the many friends I've met through the site are still active users (most just maintain their membership to participate in events). I've got my own theories as to why, but during 2013-2014 the site pretty much did a 180 and lost most of the things that made it fun. Robb Alvey still puts out the best roller coaster videos I've seen, but he's doing a horrible job with the rest of TPR and I don't see the site lasting more than another year or two if things don't change soon.

As for Disney's policy, I'm pretty sure the official policy is that once you leave the line you must enter from the back. On rides that offer them, if you need to leave the line I believe you can get a child switch pass which will allow those who left to use the Fastpass queue after the rest of their party rides, but I don't think you're supposed to leave and reenter. That said, it does happen and if it is one parent with a young child in a decent sized line most are understanding.

@Re-Check 9: You are now free from TPR. That website is now far from being so friendly to coaster and park fans with a set of funny plus loltastic comments. I still miss the days when he was an amateur coaster fanatic, just like most of us.

There was nothing wrong in your posts. It's just Robb who exploded with assumptions about you and avoiding the actual question you asked...

Welcome, as TTD mentioned before. You can pretty much do a sh*tload here before you'd actually get banned. Heck Cool5 is still alive and well after all his crossposting.
