going under a waterfall might be cool.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

I would doubt RMC would even be involved in that if they did add some, which they probably will.

Coaster fans, thank you for your responses. The track you have seen is straight because it is the track for the lift hill. I will post pictures of the first corner track on Tues. The Texas Giant will have more air time. The track is going to be smoother because of the make up of it and the technology we have put into it. If you have any other questions we will be happy to answer them. Again, I think you will be pleasantly surprised when you ride the new hybrid.

Thx. Fred

Ah thanks, I figured the track had to be curved but that quote from an article which said the track was brought in unbent then cut in to sections and put in place threw me. Bending that shape of steel structure accurately and without loosing integrity must be a trick. I look forward to the pictures.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

Have been out to the park a few times to check out the progress, and they seem to be doing a lot of work. So far, there's only track on the turn before the lift, and almost half of the lift, but it looks like they're planning on putting track in the station this week, possibly. Track has been removed from most of the ride, the structure of the helix has been removed entirely, and other parts of the structure have been partially removed, as well.

The structure for the lift has been topped off, and you can sort of see the profile of how the first drop will be. Track was removed from the lift hill last week, but now it's back in place. The gaps between sections of track have been fixed. The steel ledgers still aren't bolted to the structure.

Giant's looking pretty sick, at the moment. With the extra space between the drop and the first hill, they're putting in a killer double up.

I have one, I just don't feel like resizing/posting the pictures. Here's an unresized pic from today showing the whole ride (insanely short first half of double up towards the bottom of the pic):

Apparently the first drop leads directly into a double up. This could be amazing!

Uh... holy poop. That's Intamin right? Been dying to see them do a drop straight from the lift like that.

Nope. That sir is from Rocky Mountain Coasters, who are from around my neck of the woods up here in Northern Idaho :D. I'm proud to say that Texas has to go to Idaho to do it big :P.

Props to RMC, for their first major project, they certainly are making a huge impact. Not sure if people have simply lost intrest in the Giant or not, but if so, this could be the sleeper hit of 2011.

It'll be a lot like an Intamin pre-fab for sure, especially with the canon 79-degree drop. This time, however, I haven't seen a 95-degree overbank on a woodie. It's also a good thing that they're making it 10ft higher since the train will need the extra potential energy to navigate the same course on a steel track.

Well I gotta question to RMC:What about the lats? Will the turns be so banked that they create no proper laterals? That would be sad...
