I fully respect other people's beliefs, it's just when I see things like "Muslim is one of the stupidest religions" it reminds me why I can't stand any religion.

To me, religion is nothing but a tool used to guide society into believeing what's right and wrong. The problem is people take this too far and want to push their religion down other people's throats, and we end up with wars in the name of god, the same thing that tool is meant to prevent. We're told to do the right thing and we'll be accepted into whatever form of heaven is associated with your religion of choice, but then for some reason people seem to think that the right thing is belittling people of other beliefs, whether it be in the form of an attack of some sorts or just trying to "save" everyone. That's the definition of irony to me.

I personally don't believe in any god, I believe I can figure out right and wrong on my own without the guidance of something that (I believe) doesn't even exist. A great example of all of this are inmates in prisons around the world that "find" religion. I'm not going to knock it because if they found something that makes them a better person, than great. But I can't help but think it's a glowing example of the superficial void that humans think they have to fill with god to tell them what's right and wrong. Maybe it's the incentive of reward, or maybe people think they can't do it on their own (or maybe they're told so), but religion to me is social engineering in it's biggest form and nothing more.

Because it's pointless, like you.

First it was the Jet Coaster's, now you are posting topics about Bowman 2, a kafyia (I mean - WTF?), collecting error pages, and other pointless topics.

...do you understand how pointless you are?!

Nice to see a intellectual answer. At least it isn't downright insulting to people like "religion is a retarted excuse for insane people to say "its ok to have imaginary friends!".

He even spelt retarded wrong. lol

so, he must be an idiot because he made a typo? Really? Come on now, son.

Your opinion is that the world would be boring if people didn't have differing opinions, well, the opinion you were so overted to WAS his differing opinion to yours, so... well, you got your wish, surely? So, you should have no problem should you? Why are you even trying to begin an argument, calling people unintelligent just because their opinion is different to yours.

I/we think that religion is stupid, end of.

^ Thanks for bringing us back on topic. lol

Just for the record, I'm not looking for an argument nor am I trying to act like a troll. I just wish you people would stop making those who believe in religion so unwelcome and moronic. Sure, you may have your opinions about certain stuff and I do respect that but you have made the mistake of thinking that I don't. I'm just saying that there are ways of saying things without being insulting to people.

You make yourselves unwelcome and moronic. The more religious presence there is in an area, the higher the rape, murder, abortion, children had out of wedlock, and suicide rates. It doesn't contribute anything to society and is all in all a gigantic worldwide drain.

There are ways of practicing your religion without forcefully shoving it down people's throats and attempting to govern the entire country with it all while oppressing groups of people and continuing to deny basic civil rights.

Do not be a hypocrite. I hate reading regurgitated garbage from people who won't even support basic civil rights because jesus is bring the world together or whatever while all of the preachers turn around and screw meth prostitutes while driving around in their Roll Royce with the money they stole from donations.

I honestly am a Christian, baptized and confirmed into our local Presbyterian church, but the only thing I can't stand is how religion is always the scapegoat of just about everything.

I have friends who are Hindu, Muslim, Athiest, Mormom, etc., and we seem to get along just fine!

I think the real problem is the inability for older generations to realize that there are other people with different lifestyles and different opinions and different beliefs. Honestly, I think our generation may better this world because we have been exposed to other cultures more, and we are growing up in changing times, such as gay rights. The only hurdle is parents blinding their kid(s) with information and those kid(s) will believe whatever their parents tell them and find it true.

Religion has its advantages for society, but like all inventions and philosophies, there are always people trying to figure out how to hurt someone with them.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

The thing I dislike about religions is, that, for instance in christianity, you get baptised when you're born. (IF you get baptised, I wasn't)
That's "initiating" into the religion, before the child can argue about it.
Why not wait till the person is 18?

I am a good example of that. I was, unfortunately, baptised when I was a child, which saddens me.

It is akin to parents having their childrens ears pierced. My mom is the headteacher at a school in a fairly deprived area of the city and some of the horrorous things that the parents do to their kids are disgraceful, having them baptised is one of them.

But Christianity, thankfully, is pretty much dead in this country now, it's seen a rapid decline in the past decades, with more and more people realising the stupidity of organized religion. It is unfortunate, however, that many other religions have at the same time been on the increase here, as more and more foreigners arrive.

thats baptist. although they are christians, there are other branches of christianity that have the parents make the decision to raise their child in the christian faith.

I think religion is fine...as long as it's not forced upon people. I actually do disagree with babies being baptized as soon as they are born, etc. I think if someone wants to be baptized, they should be able to but it should be THEIR decision, not their parents'. Also for those of you who are agnostic or atheist out there, try not to generalize Christians as those people on street corners who yell about the apocalypse or the well-dressed men who come to your door and try to get you to repent. Those are the extremes of the religion, and should not be what your thoughts towards all Christians should be based off of. Honestly they annoy the hell out of me too...

This is where a lot of people don't understand what they talk about. You too Supercell, and everyone that believes that Baptism is your lock into a religious life.

If you don't want to be a Christian...okay. Don't be a Christian. Baptism, ceremonies, nothing will ever make you a Christian unless you realize in your heart what the meaning of it is, truly.

Baptism is your entry into the church, most likely your family will induct you into some sort of Sunday school or youth group. After you've been taught the teachings, Confirmation comes along.

Confirmation is your choice of entering into the select religion. Baptism means nothing in my eyes, while when Confirmation comes around, the choice is yours, and it is deeper than Baptism because only you can decide what you want for yourself.

That's right everyone, keep talking about how much you hate religion and everyone that practices it. You truly must have never set foot out of your house.

I stand by myself as a Christian and I've caused no problems about it. It is you causing the problems with your generalizations that anyone practicing in Religion is the center of conflict in our society.

Open your minds you lifeless selfish douche bags. We're not all bad. I am in disbelief that CKidmwm who has a very informed mind of general happenings in the world thinks that it is ALL OF US who are forcing religion down throats and acting stupid with christianity and such.

Oh well, I guess I can change my mind now.

^Amen. Way to stand up for what you believe. I think us christians have done nothing to create conflict, and we are not forced into belief. Im a christian because i like being a christian, and for many reasons!

Me too. I've been a Christian all my life, and its nothing like everyone is making out to be. GerstlCrazy was so true about what he said, and I commend him for standing up for his beliefs.

The Christian faith has nothing to do with shoving our religion down throats. In fact, we actually look down on that. Accepting Christ is your choice, not those around you. [:)]

I still have the kafyia!! I have not worn it in a long time. I found another old birdhouse in the basement!! I put Elmer's glue in the inside of it so it would hold my liquid! I cannot wait to make it small nasty like the last birdhouse that only lasted a week before it fell apart from being too wet and soaked all the time!

It's easy to forget that everyone is brain washed to think their religion is the best religion, even when there is a lack of peer reviewed evidence to support such a bold claim.

Such petty arguments (which lead to wars) over steadfast beliefs in imaginary things are holding us back as a species.
