Coaster type: hypercoaster

Construction time: over 1.5 years

Pre-planning: since 2010

Official opening: planned for 2015, theming in 2016

K?????RNAN is the biggest investment the park has ever made and the largest project by far HANSA-PARK has ever undertaken.

The hypercoaster ??????K?????RNAN?????? will bear a very special name, and it will tell a story.

Its name and the story woven around it will fit the overall concept of HANSA-PARK and symbolize our Park??????s name.

K?????RNAN??????s full name is: K?????RNAN'S OATH ?????? Beware of its Spell!

You will be able to experience the full story and theming in 2016 - one season after the ride has been officially launched.

K?????RNAN will be a family thrill ride, meaning that it will be both a challenge to and an adventure for families.

Exactly how tall and how old you must be to enjoy a ride on K?????RNAN will be determined by T?????V S??????d, Germany??????s technical control body.

K?????RNAN will be the park??????s leading motive in 2015.

K?????RNAN will sport themed trains.

The new ride attraction will be planned and designed by Munich-based Werner Stengel - an engineering firm that is highly experienced in planning out-of-the-ordinary hypercoasters.

The attraction will be built by Gerstlauer, a company based in M??????nsterhausen, who - we are absolutely sure of that - will implement our ideas and bring them to life exactly as we imagine it.

The Munich-based certification body, T?????V S??????d, will be involved in the planning and development and later test and certify the hypercoaster.

The K?????RNAN Layout

K?????RNAN will be what is known as a ??????signature ride??????, and it will be visible from afar.
The hypercoaster will feature a distinct custom layout tailored to fit perfectly into HANSA-PARK
K?????RNAN will not feature an inclined lift, but a vertical lift
K?????RNAN will feature a vertical first drop.
K?????RNAN??????S track layout is marked since mid June.
K?????RNAN will pass through a dark section before the lift.
K?????RNAN will pass through a dark section before heading into the station.
K?????RNAN will have a ride element shaped like a heart.
K?????RNAN will have a an inversion element.
K?????RNAN??????s inversion element will be in the dark.
K?????RNAN will also be a terrain coaster running just slightly above the ground on certain ride sections.

Other Details

K?????RNAN will feature 16-seat trains with lap bars.
K?????RNAN??????s tower will be founded on piles that combined have a length of about 1.8 km
K?????RNANs The track height will be 73m (lift hill above the base).
K?????RNANs The tower will be about 79m high.
K?????RNANs The tower made of reinforced concrete weighs roughly 4,800t.
K?????RNAN??????s total track length will be 1,235 metres.
K?????RNAN??????s first drop will be a 67-metre plunge.
K?????RNAN will require about 200 supports outside the buildings.

I have been following this project for some time. I am extremely pumped for this. 2 great Gerstlauers in one park is just too much to handle. I have some pics of the tower, let me rehost them.

EDIT: Found this little gem on K?????rnan's website.

This is the 2015 coaster I'm most intrigued about. A 70+ meter vertical lift sounds insane, and the layout / element sequence is still a mystery even until now! Also take into account the fact that this will be Gerstlauer's first hyper, and that means the ride experience will be basically a complete mystery until the ride actually opens.

Oscar you spelt Gerstlauer wrong in the title.

*mod edit, when I paste your link into the browser, it comes up as posted above and works good :)*

The black supports and track are for the darkride sections. The supports and track for the other parts are going to get a different color.

so is it going to be an elevator lift, or vertical lift? I'm confused by the inside tower shot. there doesn't seem to be facets for either really

I can't wait for vertical track construction for this to begin! Gerstlauer always manage to create weird and wonderful layouts, even if the ride experience leaves some to be desired.

Elevator lift would be awesome but at the same time I love the whole dynamic that a vertical lift hill gives you as you crest over the top!

It has been confirmed to be a vertical lift with a twisted vertical drop.

^^ I rode this mockup and immediately thought it awesome that Gerstlauer would make such an attempt! 8-)

Plenty of new pictures on the blog:

Well, this explains why it was so hard to imagine a lifthill and drop went into that tower. It's seperated into 2 pieces. :)

I have to say, Gerstlauer is my favourite manufacturer as of late as they are just creating some crazy concepts and innovations. :P

Very much looking forward to this. Shame the theming won't be fully in place until 2016.

That second picture makes the ride look less like a roller coaster under construction and more like a rocket being assembled at NASA.

But seriously, I'm pretty hyped for this ride! Can't wait to see what it'll really look like.

Cannibal and this are the projects I am waiting for the most! This ride will definitely put Gerstlauer in the top ranks.

Considering how amazingly well themed Fluch von Novgorod is, I really don't care.

That POV is actually how Fluch von Novgorod opened in it's opening year... The year after it looked a whole lot different and soo much better. Here's the best video I could find with a few minutes searching:

It shows also some of the themed elements in the queueline, but if you want to see the ride. I'd recommend skipping to the 2 minutes mark. :)

Construction going well, altho I'm not fan of the track colors. I think the blue from the concept would have looked better.
