The start of the day, a police escort accross the bridge?
Image
La Ronde is over to the top-right of that picture. Not sure what the police escort was about.

And then...

We were the first in the park at 11:45, yes. 11:45! Why? As we drove in, the park seemed closed, but we actually drove off to the side of the barriers, onto some grass to getting to the entrance of the parking. I think they were possibly planning on closing since no one was there yet? A very wierd start to the day with the police and the barriers :Image

Image
^Last time we were here, the line was twice as far back from where I'm standing! This time, they let one of my friends in for free, and the other for half price! And we were first! What a great deal!
And now, a walk to Goliath, through the empty park. A cool sight.

Mmmmm.

I love you.

They see us, and they start testing! Nice! We got on the train right as we approched the station, no waiting for tests to complete or anything.
Image
Another view..... of emptyness.......

We got on Goliath for one hour before seeing another body. A great 19 rides in a row before getting off!

Image
Here's us waiting for the Launch tower. Yes, I said wait. We got on, and the 4 of us didn't have 800 pounds together, so we waited for about 10 minutes trying to recruit people to ride, haha.
Image
Waiting more....

Image
The four of us getting soaked when an empty boat came by... we got a park employee to take a picture, LOL! Not really sure who the little kid is......

Sadly, since there was only about a total of 50 people in the whole park at 2:00, they decided to close the park at 3:00. So we went to Chinatown, and the Museum of Science, which is HIGHLY recommended.

Not something were used to... People.

Total Rides for the day:
Goliath: 23!
Monstre: 2
Vampire: 2
Launch Tower: 1
Splash Boats: 5
Boomerang, er... "Chocolate Milk" :1
Wild Mouse: 3

Fun day! Too bad it ended 4 hours early. :-
But, 23 rides on goliath! That's unheard-of!!

And, a candian parking ticket we took home :(

You have to pay with a credit card, so I only had a debit card, with 4 dollars on it. It lasted until 4:37. The parking charge ended at 5:00. Whats 23 minutes, Right....? WRONG!!????????? ?????????$45 for a 23 Minute violation!! :-\

OMG. did you really get to go round on Goliath 19 times before you had to get off? That is surely like... a record? [lol]

We easily could've sat there all day if we wanted to, but we wanted to ride vampire, get wet, and ride monstre and other rides. It was one of my friends first times there, he wanted to go to other rides. We got 14 of those 19 rides with no one else on the train! It was the weirdest day I've ever seen.

Also, Goliath was not using trims this day at all. The return trip later in the day was insane.

You're so lucky. That's awesome how empty it was. I think I might go there.

^ Be careful if you only go for a day. Everytime I've been there, the lines are about an hour for everything. They run all rides at minimum capacity, except for Goliath, which always has the shortest line of about 30 minutes on average. Vampire is always the worst, go there early.

Wow, last time I was there it was at least an hour and half for every ride there! You were so lucky, I would've loved to be there that day.

Nice luck you got there, thanx for the TR! :) What about Monstre? Is it a good ride? It sure looks like an interesting Cobb Woodie.

^ The first time I rode it the thing was amazing, the layout is unexpected, the airtime is great, and the turns are banked so much and very interesting, especially on the left track, which is much better in my opinion. The ride itself is extremely rough though after riding it a few more times. This trip, I went on Goliath 20 or so times before going on Monstre, and Goliath is the smoothest coaster I've been on, so Monstre seemed EXTERMELY rough. But it's definatly one of the better woodies out there for sure... And would be extremely good if they still sent them out at the same times, but I've been to La Ronde a lot and have never seen such a thing. The ride op's there are jokes, never seen worse.

Here's some picts of Monstre as well that I found:

Image
The sign...
Image
Even though the ride looks like it's filled with only twists and turns, there are a couple strait airhills in both layouts that deliver incredible air.
Image
Headchoppers are EVERYWHERE. A huge plus.
Image
It's really too bad they couldn't dispatch at the same time. The ride would be so incredible with the wood shattering all around you with the other car flying about you and above and below. You can also see one of the awkwardly banked turns, it's extremely banked and goes very slow there, quite a feeling.

I found Monstre to be a completely average ride. I just remember the first drop being pretty sweet, I can't really recall too much though since I haven't been on it in 3 years.

wow you don't see those pictures that often.... in Toverland we are used to have only 200 guests at a time in low season as now, but that park is a lot smaller than La Ronde, surely amazing experience
