Ok since today marks 14 years since Kurt Cobain tragically committed suicide (R.I.P. Kurt), I'm making a coaster themed to Nirvana. It's called Lithium and it will be a 305 ft. tall, 91MPH, Intamin Giga Coaster. It's my first coaster on my new laptop and it's had some issues with Scream Machines. I managed to get most of them straightened out, but for some reason the skyboxes have black outlines on them forming the shape of a box. I had no issues with it until I put the game on my laptop. This coaster has a multi-color changing, 11MPH elevator lift hill. This will be my tallest coaster made thus far, and I plan to take my time in it to keep the G's in line and to make the supports sustainable. After riding my last Intamin Hyper Coaster, Vitesse, I realized that it was all jumbled together and everything seemed random, so I plan to improve. Here's the first pics:

Wow, that looks awesome: the colors and the ride itself actually looks good.

Many problems I can see. Lift pull over starts FAR too early, and is too peaky. Lift supports are terribly done. If this actually is a giga (doesn't look 300 ft...) than use tower structures, if not, use the trangular structures with the horizontal connections. The bottom of the overbank's rails hit the footers. Fix that.

I just did the auto support to give you the idea of the color of the supports. I tried to fix the lift as much as possible, and if I made it any wider, it would be weirdly shaped. It's 310ft. tall and I will try to support it like Millennium Force when I finish trackwork

Haha, it is an inside joke somewhat. I'm not dissing your coaster in any way.

I decided to take out the banked turnaround due to high G's and weird banking transitions. I added a 121 degree banked dive and a 205ft. tall airtime hill.

I do plan to continue the color change at the top of the hills. I will work on that after I finish all trackwork to make it easier to manage track editing

-UPDATE 4/11/08-
I added a camelback and a high G banked turn. I plan to work on a water section next and color that section turqoise blue to blend in with the water.

First, you're going to want to not have ever section of track 4-pipe.

Second, that should bank left a little bit earlier. The transition into the left turning drop is going to have nasty lats in front and back right.

^Not necessarily. And, if it is fixed, it could cause problems with G's pre-crest, as opposed to post-crest that you speak of.

Yea I've been thinking that as well. Where do you think would be a good place to maybe do a tri-rail? I was thinking of going tri-rail after the MCBR. And I'll see if banking left earlier will help it or not. I'm stopped for now and thinking of what to do for the water section finale.

I just checked with the lats on the camelback and they don't even enter the yellow. Only 1.3 max pulled on the right side and 0.3 pulled on the left

Do you know what Lithium is?

The colors look interesting. Too bad I can't ride as I don't have SM.

Yep Lithium is the lightest metal and the third lightest element. Here's some new pics. Trackwork should be finished in the next few days.

I personally think the lift hill and the airtime hill(205ft) could use some reshaping, And better pacing could be good too.

Just an opinion, other than that, it looks great, and I love the colors.

I did reshape the first airtime hill, but have not touched the lift hill. I've had a few testers and they, along with myself think it's perfect the way it is. I just finished on trackwork and next up is to do some minor tweaking and color the track. The grand total of feet this coaster takes up is a whopping 7,846ft., which is 1,500ft. longer than Millennium Force. Final pics before the release in 2 weeks. I've shown you all enough teaser pics, I gotta keep you surprised for the final[:D]

-UPDATE- (4/20)
Ok I may have lied a bit. The ride's coming along quite nicely and will be ready to release Sunday, April 27th. I spent the past 2 days fixing the supports on the lift hill. I started out by building a scaffolding and editing all of the free nodes from there. I used pics of Millennium Force to base the support designs off of. I also fixed the first drop and set it at a hefty 95 degree slope [:p]

(Sorry for the double post)

I'm happy to announce that after a slow week of progress, Lithium is done and ready to be unleashed to coaster enthusiasts worldwide. So prepare for the unveiling on Monday, April 28th at 4PM EST. I'll also upload a POV for those non-Scream Machines users [;)]
