I realize that there are a lot of newcomers to the site who are looking to improve their NoLimits (or SM, whatever) skills, but the quality of tracks on the exchange has really diminished over the past few months. Most of the new tracks are terribile and are being uploaded so frequently that the decent tracks are hidden before anyone has the the chance to find them, so they don't get recognized! And I know there are good tracks still being uploaded, I've searched through the exchange and found them!

Is there any way to set a minimum score limit on tracks that can stay on the exchange? Say, if a ride gets 2 or more rates with an average below 3 or 4 (or whatever), that it is taken down automatically? I think this would force the amateurs to spend a lot more time on their rides and actually produce something presentable. In my opinion, making 30 tracks each day will not improve your skills. Only making better tracks than your previous one will. And that requires spending more time.

Do people realize how much time and money that would cost? You can't just click a couple of buttons and voila!

Actually, I didn't realize it. I apologize for never running a website. So make it manual. Not a big deal. My point is that I think there needs to be some sort of regulatory mechanism in place so it doesn't get any more out of hand than it already is.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like a dick. Oscar and Mikey have said that probably a hundred times. I do like the general idea of what you're saying, though.

Haha nah you didn't sound like a dick. I would have said that same thing if I was in your shoes! But it's good to know that I'm not alone.

We don't have the human resources to do such a thing. Such is life of a website that doesn't make enough money to sustain itself.

Well, The only way to solve that problem is that we all need to start rating more tracks.
If more people start rating tracks, the actual top 5 rated tracks on the front page will only contain the better rides. So that they get their recognition they deserve. [:)]

I'm sure the site will pick up once Nolimits 2 is released, whenever that is.

Lots of criticism from someone who knows nothing about the costs of running this website. What's in it for me in carrying nl2? Absolutely nothing to gain and more money to spend on people like you who don't have an idea what it costs to run this website and the time and effort it takes to manage it. Think it's cheap, here's a screen shot of the hosting payment due by the 4th of this month for this website. Maybe I am a dumbass by still having this website up and running.

^BAM! haha nice one [devilish]

I don't think we have the right to temper with the chance for some newcomers to improve on their NL skills. I know that I wouldn't be anywhere without the advice I had recieved from my rated tracks. I think perhaps that if there is a consistancy in shoddy work, perhaps something may be done, but I don't think its really that big of a deal.

Clicking them doesn't do anything, that's just for ranking purposes. Clicking links doesn't make me money anymore.

Back on subject for a sec. Funny to see this topic pop up, as this is a major issue on my site (seen in my sig). We have WAY lower quality uploads, too. As a smaller site, we really didn't know what to do other than what I think the only way is. That being that you need to separate them into beginner and advanced categories. It may be difficult, but it solves the problem. It would require intense coding and work though, so good luck with anything you do chose.

I posted a donate $5 link on all the pages below the menu bar. If we can get uhmm 120 to donate, we'll probably have enough to cover the costs. Might need more than 120 donations of $5 each because of the fees paypal takes! If you want to donate a different amount, there's the big PayPal logo you can click at the bottom of this website [:)] You can also try the GameFly trial or BlockBuster trial offers that are in the bottom of the website on all pages as well. I'll try to donate. Hopefully I can get my parents to send you some money through PayPal. Of course, it is not under my control.

I'd love to donate as well, been considering it for some time actually, but every time I think about it, I'm at my computer, locked away in my room, unable to ask my parents.
