I adore fast coasters that have launches. Steel Venom is fun for me, but not my favorite. That's the reason I look forward to the Dragster when I go to Cedar Point this summer.

Differences anyone? No one?? Geezzze, come on!

Oh sorry, I forgot: TTD was mirrored... [:P]

[lol]
I was just joking with him because he over hyped Griffon a bit and he's accusing everyone of over hyping this.

I do see the similarities though. [:p]

Maverick will be cool even without the roll, just watch the backseat in the test videos, crazy air. The other hills look to have great ejector as well.

It looks pretty cool....but, ugh! Normally, I wouldn't be mad about this, but with those two quick bends after the first drop, I thought they'd have enough...

Cool, on one of those last pics it looks like the track goes slightly up. Maybe that'll give a pop of air too? [:D] That's what I was hoping for before. I guess we'll find out a bit later.

My guess is that they had to design it based on the footers that were already there.

Hey, just wanted to let everyone know that I just passed by the coaster while on the employee bus, and they are testing once again. It's looking good for a prompt opening. I'm gonna go get some video while I have the chance.

That was faster than expected. Less than two weeks! Well, that's a relief that it'll be open when I go there.

Oh, gee, as though Maverick is the only roller coaster at the park. I'm sure there are still one or two rides at CP that will still outshine Mav by a few points (for some people). I know for fact that Raptor can't be beaten, and Maverick is no exception. It only had a chance with the roll, and now it goes *flush. That's just me though...[:)]

No, but the ride Raptor gave me...I guess you have an excellent point, that I have no idea about Maverick yet, but if you understood how I love Raptor, not a ride at the park could come close to it!

No...I do believe they did NOT pour new concrete footers...they used the existing concrete footers, and replaced the supports in accordance to the new track.

Of course not! No one said anything about "pouring" footers except you. Guess why I initially used the term "reworked". They did just that: *rework* some footers (as can be seen on the pics) for placing the new supports on these...

I think when people hear footer, they automatically thing "cement block in the ground" instead of the steel that connects the support into the concrete.
