I am trying to make a vid and using a song, thing is the song is a little uinder 3 minutes in my mp3 player, but when imported into ovie maker, the song is over 5 minutes long, no bleeps errors, plays through fine and all, just longer, any idea what may cause such behavior? It's the exact same file that is in my mp3 player.

I think it might be the play speed diffrence it might be playing kinda fast on your mp3 and the movie make just slowed it down a little.

does the files in the movie maker slow down so that the quality is bad?
or is the speed the same?

music plays fine, only the music plays longer, at same audible speed, great quality, just the track seems to loop, but it's seemingly impossible to see where it loops at it does it flawlessly without hearing a bleep of sorts or scratch or anything.

option1(easy): you should be able to determine how long something lasts on your story bord, like how long a fade will be during and so....maybe if you change your songs duration into the origianl duration, it should help.
option2(hard): if 1 doesn't work, it could be that WMM can't read mp3's good, and, if i'm not mistaken you can slice things up with WMM, all you need to do is cut the track into pieces, find a lyric, then put it back together, as a *.wav for example.

if you need any help with the last option (which will not suprise me), just post here...

When you imported the mp3 did you select an option to loop twice or something? Maybe the mp3 music settings automatically loops the mp3 twice?
