...... dude.. you're 18. either there's more to this story that you didnt post in your "this is the truth, honest" blog, or you're worried for no reason. i'm thinking it's a little of both.

I stated the whole truth. I've never dealt with court and charges so I kinda have a right a be worried when people think you'll possibly face time for it

I have never heard of someone going to jail for skipping school.

Yea, but since I was skipping with a really young minor and had no permission to be around him by order of his mom apparently, they said it's contributing to the delinquency of a minor

"Contributing to the delinquency of a minor can be as simple as keeping a child home from school"
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictiona ... of+a+Minor

You're the adult at the time, you're the one encouraging the school skipping behavior by providing transportation. Prolly a misdemeanor at worst, if that. Nothing that will kill you career wise like a felony unless you're planning on entering law enforcement.

Will do Geo [approve]

I should get my papers by next Monday at the latest since they only do paperwork once a week so I'll see when my court date is. I plan to plead not guilty and get a public hearing and do a little plea bargaining to drop the major charges. I hope it all works out. Everyone's watching me like a hawk right now lol

According to 2 sites I looked up, skipping and/or keeping a minor from going to school is a class A misdemeanor [xx(]

Really, though. It'll have to be a slow at the police station for them to care about some kids skipping school who didn't even have drugs or anything.

Seriously, I hate this this is even an issue.

It'd be jail, not prison, so I would be by myself. And don't even say I'd like Bubba. I'd break his damn legs lol

I was caught cutting school with a friend one time when I lived in West Virginia. 6 months in prison...it was bad. I really don't even want to talk about it. Lost scholarships, and now I'm having trouble even getting a job at McDonalds.

Good luck!

that must've sucked.. sorry that happened to you. judges can really be assholes in some places. i knew a guy that was older than me way back.. he didnt have someone else with him, but he had just turned 18 and was busted for something when school was in session and he was enrolled.. i cant remember what exactly it was, something relatively petty, but the judge gave him actual time because he was still in high school.. it wasn't a long time, but it would've been a small fine if he wasn't still enrolled in high school..

WHAT!?

The worst you'd get here for skipping school would be that your parents were fined some insignificant amount and even that would only be if you were constantly skipping school even after numerous warnings.
