I know its another Intamin ride but thi is very different from Firework. I decided I wanted to build a ride like this while Firework was being tested. I started it and I have now decided to finish it[:D]. This is a mega coaster by Intamin. It is 57m high, 1345.5m long, and has a top speed of 115 km/h (71mph). I wanted to add something new and interesting so I added the mini double dip on the Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood into this coaster. Here are some pics!

Also, you dont HAVE to put 4 rail track. 3 tubed is ideal for a hyper coaster but in some area force changes this. But your'e the engineer so yea...

supports look a little thick...maybe the crossbars should be thinned a little? idk im not really good with supports but they just dont really look right.

I was thinking the same thing regarding the supports. It could also help if the coaster was connected to the main structures in multiple places.
I assume this is supposed to be like the supports on the new coasters:

In this case, it's certainly the same style, so why not?

It may be the same style, but the supports are no where near similar, on the lift at least.

^Thats a mega lite. And anyway... that is intamin's current way of supporting, they haven't built a ride NOT like that since 2010. And look at the upcoming hyper SKYRUSH. It uses that style so he can too. But he is the designer and he decides.

Sorry, from the huge radius of the lift hill I thought it was a mega-lite. But even then the way he is supporting is far from right,

It's not even the fact that he is supporting it wrong, I don't really care about that, it's the fact that he compared a mega to a giga coaster. My thoughts are to rethink what type of ride this is.

Well he was trying to say that the track needed to be connected to the structure more, which should apply to any ride regardless of style. On that note, maybe a <200 foot drop doesn't need that structure, however the one you have is quite nice to look at nonetheless. It seems to be your call here.

EDIT: Also, notice the truss on the lift of the rides with this structure. If you're not gonna make one of those, I suggest rethinking those supports.

I like the supporting alot but if you all say I should change it I will. I was also gonna put a road under the lift and first camel back so thats why I did the supports how I did.

EDIT: I also saw on the Skyrush project at Hershey that they are doing the supporting like this too.

RideWarriorNation, I was trying to give CJW an idea of what he needed. I understand the difference between the coasters, but CJW is supporting using the same style.

CJW, there is a reason why supports are not built like that, and it mainly has to do with forces. In my opinion, since I'm no expert, I don't believe these support structures would look very sturdy if a lot of force was applied to them. On a lift hill, when the force is minimal, they would be fine, but not when there is high force.
In addition, I don't think these supports would be cost efficient, but of course, this is a "Simulator."

CJW, these supports do look cool, and I haven't seen many people add supports like that, so it could be something cool.

If needed I can thicken the support to add more strength to them. Ill have my testers for this decide what to do though.

I think the only reason that Skyrush is going to have these kind of supports is because its lift crosses over Comet with no place to put footers or supports down.

just widen the main braces, thin the crossbraces and itll look a little more natural.
