NFL bans TD celebrations

i was watching sportscenter and heard the Nfl voted to crack down on TD celebrations like chad johnson's putt putt and steve smith's snow angel. the nfl banned celebrations that consist of using the ball as a prop, using any props, and actions in the endzone that you on not your feet(push ups, sit ups, snow angels). But spinning, spiking and dunking the ball is accepted. i dont know if it is just me but the nfl games are going to get a little boring.[V]

I think this sucks. Some people tune in to NFL games to see what Chad and Terrell are going to do when they get a TD.

Whats the most exciting football in the country? Yea, COLLEGE. NFL pales in comparison. Why?

1. College kids actually play their hearts out.
2. College kids play with enthuisasm.
3. College kids dont play for money.
4. College requires NO celebration - just football.


I like the NFL but not nearly as much as Collegiant football/sports in general. When they have to celebrate a touchdown...I just laugh. Its just a touchdown - its not like 99% of all touchdowns are just routine anyways.

What you forgot to mention was that it was the OWNERS who decided to crack down on TD celebrations, not the NFL in general.

Besides, I paid $1200 per season ticket to watch football; some not moron pulling a pen out of his sock to sign a ball, or gyrating and humping the ground with his teammates in unison. I support the decision all the way -- toss the flag, toss it twice just for good measure.

Obviously except for baseball, I find college sports much more entertaining than major league sports.

why do they care?? is it something to do with dignity and making the nfl look good? cause people don't even care about the nfl itself, they care about the teams of the nfl.

CLASSIC. But so true. I watch football for football...not their stupid celebrations. Maybe if it were like amazing to get 3,4 touchdowns a year could I warrant a celebration. But when you are T.O. and you get like 15+ a year - its lame.

It was funny ... but meant to make folks wake-up. Enough is enough.

The only person who IMO should ever celebrate a touchdown is Mike Holmgren. If he manages to get a TD, he can hump a cheerleader and then pretend he is putting the football 3 times over for all I care. But seriously, it's a change for the better, shows football is trying to become football and entertain through that rather than a big overproduced show with some football involved.
