train style
corkscrew coaster

The station must be in the purple box marked with an X. This will be judged in the editor, not the sim, so if the station goes outside the box, then it is fine.

The track can go anywhere within the red box, but the supports may not touch the water, and the footers may not be in the water. The track can cross the water, but, as previously mentioned, no supports can touch the water at any point. All who do such will endure the wrath of God. May God have mercy upon your souls. You will also experience disqualification.[^]

Max G-forces of
5 positive
1.6 negative
1.5 lateral

You may not go above the red line for it marks the maximum hight which you are allowed to build.

Scenery can go anywhere.

You may use 2 lifts or 2 launches at a max! This means that you are perfectly welcomed, and encouraged to build dueling/racing coasters if your heart so desires.

Trains must be a minimum of 5 cars long and a maximum of 8 cars long.

There must be at least 2 trains or more.

The track must be continues (no shuttles)

You cannot edit the terrain or template

You cannot put scenery in the water, or attach attach supports to the object.

Any breach of these rules will result in the disqualification of your submission.

Deadline will be MARCH 11th at midnight CET

This is a nice and easy start so that way you all have a good chance of not only finishing the track, but also making it to round 2. I hope to see some outstanding designs from you guys, so get to work!

To submit your track, you can send it to this address gazag@coastercrazy.com . If that does not float your boat, then you can upload it to the exchange, but be sure to have NLT after the track's title, and post a link to it in this topic. You can submit 1 track and 1 track only. Once I have received your track, your name shall be added to the almighty list which layeth below these most holy text. As it is written: The winner of thine most holy of holy contests shall be thine most uber of all thine designers, or at least until thine contest of the years next[:D]

Thanks Gazag! As you could probably tell we've been, eager if you will, to begin, xD. This looks like it should be interesting.

[edit] forgot to ask something...I hope this does not start up a certain argument, but tools are allowed for round 1 right?

"station must be in the purple box marked with an X and this will be judged in the sim not the editor so if the station goes outside the box thats fine"

So, if the station is being judged in the sim, then shouldn't the building be within the boundries? Or did you mean the editor, and only the track has to be within the borders?

"station must be in the purple box marked with an X and this will be judged in the sim not the editor so if the station goes outside the box thats fine"

Is this correct?? because now you say that if the station is outside the box its ok in the sim.. but you will judge from within the sim? :S

So basicaly you can have *any* amount of forces, since in particular these have not been limited at all by the rules. On the other hand, do watch out with your 3DS! Only 5 posers and 1.6 black people are allowed to be placed in the track file!

What a strange challenge... [:O]

awesomeness... it's been forever since we've had a corkscrew contest.

Question:

"The track can go anywhere in the red box"... does that mean that supports can go out? or is it track AND supports?

geez, cjd, the template basically covers the entire building zone in the editor, you can build anywhere. I really don't see any reason why anything should even come NEAR the border.
This is like having a spitting contest in the middle of a football stadium and demanding that noone spit over the stands.

Hey, come on, the zones on the top left and far left are kind of narrow... I just want to know just in case.

EDIT: like this

"With that template, you really have to prove you are as good as you think you are"?

(No way I'll make it that far anyway, so whatever.)

The last contest that I competed in was before Elementary was released, way back in 2004, so yeah... I'm a little bit nervous. To be honest, there are at least fifteen designers I see on the list that could kick my ass with no problem. I'll be very happy if I can just make it to Round 3.

I've started a design! Woot! And if the case is that I make it through, I won't win. Yay me.

Does this have to be a realistic design to Vekoma (/arrow) or can we do what ever we want with the layout?
