Excuse me, didn`t think it mattered to you that much. Not to worry though, with
such a warm welcome I`ll bet you have lots of friends outside the confines of
this virtual forum.

I am a Simulation video maker. Been doing it for 5 years now, times have really changed so I`ll try and explain. Here is my setup!

We`ll start with my system specs, that will explain a lot!

MOBO- Gigabyte GA-7DX
Processor- AMD 1.4 GHZ
RAM- 1024 MB PC2100 266HZ
HD- Maxtor 7200 RPM 60 Gig
Video- ATI Radeon 8500 128mb All in Wonder
Sound- Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1
Speakers- Klipisch Promedia 5.1 450 watt 6 pc.
CDRW- Aopen 12x10x32
DVD- Pioneer 16X
Modem- Intel 56k/fax
Cable modem- Toshiba PCX 1100
Printer- Canon S520
Scanner-Microtek Scanmaker 3800
Moniter- Viewsonic E90 19" .22 DPI
Second moniter- Panosonic 27" TV/VCR combo
second VCR- Sharp 4/Head Hi/Fi
OS- Windows XP home Edition
Video software- Ulead Video Studio 5,6 and 7

What I basically do is videotape my simulations after setting up
my dual moniter display.

I then play back the tape and re-capture the clips I like in Ulead
video Studio 6, now upgraded to 7.

From there I can trim the clips and arrange them where I want them
and add up to 4 sound tracks including sounds I have recorded.

Special transitions and effects and finally it allows me produce the video in
any media format. I make DVD`s, SVCD`s ,VCD`s ,MPEG2 , MPEG1 ,
Windows media, Quicktime, Real Media, and with my upgrade MPEG4
which takes video compression to new levels of quality.

The video software is the most important part and learning how to use it.

Been making flight sim video`s going on 5 years now and has it ever
come along ways since I first tried making my first video.

This is a question I`m constantly asked!! Some enthusiests think its
really quite easy to do! When I first started I must have wasted over
50 CD-R`s learning how to get it set up right to burn the video`s.
There is a pretty steep learning curve for those who think they can
jump right into it, and lots of fustration to follow. Research is very
important.

Getting it all wired properly is gonna be your biggest challenge along with compatible drivers ;)

Hope this helps answer your question, I love No limits but am an avid Flight
simulation video maker.

Sorry for being rather mean (just spent 4 hrs on one vertex), but I'm still wondering why anyone make a 12 meg video of a 1 meg file...

[lol] That was my first thought, too. Being a broadband user though, it wasn't too big of a deal for me. I guess it is sort of cool to have music along with it too. Nice videos, jkallinen. [:)]

you really make this sound very complicated when it really isn't, all you need to make the exact same effect is FRAPS and windows movie maker. Also in the vids there is alot of shakky camera movements, very UNproffestional. you also keep editing out parts of the ride itself, and yet keep all or most of the lift hill, your also continusly having the cameral look around, and not aways at the best times for such a thing.

Not to worry, I won`t take away from your video making skills then. This place gives such warm and fuzzy welcomes its no surprise the trolls rule it. I won`t contaminate this forum anymore. Feel better now! I will also remove the links to prevent you from having to suffer through them again

Chill out dude. I think the majority of us liked your videos, but you'll never be able to please everybody no matter where you are. Stick around for awhile, and I think you'll find that this site ain't so bad. [;)]

guys instead of giving him props for trying you just gave him a slap in the face, what's up with that.
jkallinen, don't feel pushed out just cuz 2 of these foos gave you a bad time, you made something... they have never made anything to back up with "look I can make better" stuff.
Just stick around, I am sure you will like this place more, it was a rather rude welcoming by them, but you can't please everyoe. I as the owner apologize for the inconvenience you have come across here on your first day.

you're not saying they weren't ok, you're just saying they were very UNproffesional, which is the same thing, also, learn to spell better.
