Gardaland's Oblivion - The Black Hole, a brand new B&M Dive Coaster has been structurally complete for weeks now, but the park has just recently been finishing up the coaster's theming. The ride gives a NASA-type feel, representing a trip directly into a black hole with unprecedented effects. The ride's first drop does go below ground and into a tunnel, and that's where some of the cool theming has recently been applied.

Here's Oblivion - The Black Hole's first drop, with some of the warped structures over top of it. You see, the black hole that the trains dive into is so strong that it is slowly pulling all objects around it with its gravitational force. That means that was previously standing straight is now bending as if being sucked into the black hole.

This photo shows off many of the theming elements that have been applied at this point - including a water tower, TV antennas, windmill and even the nearby shrubs. The park promises that even more will be added including a TV station van and part of a nearby roof. It's a pretty cool idea, and the cartoon-like effect is pretty convincing!

Here's an even closer look at some of the elements, you can really see the bent over shrubs in this shot as well.

Gardaland's webcam for Oblivion - The Black Hole shows that some additional features are already in place, in fact I think we can see that news van now in place as well. The coaster features an Immelmann, air-time hill, helix and a zero-g roll before heading back to the station. For more information on the new coaster, which is set to open this Spring, check out Oblivion's website.

Looks like someone forgot to choose a colour. That coaster is directly built from NL2 :D

The colors looked horrible by themselves, but as more and more theming gets built, it looks better and better!

I said this before, you've got the all black of raptor right behind it so the white compliments it.
What are these for?

When you talk about the color of Oblivion, the theory "If you don't like white, you also hate light grey" goes. Oblivion at Alton Towers is as you can see, painted black so this one is completely okay with a white track! Differences clarified! :)

It looks pretty slow now, but it should go a little faster once it has warmed up. There should be some nice hangtime in a few spots :).

That theming is absolutely freaking amazing. If I could high five them right now I would.

The windmill directly above the tunnel is GENIUS!! Gives that, "Oh poop! I'm going to hit that!" effect!

I can only imagine what went through the fabricators mind when he first saw what he had to build.

Is it just me or does the entry into that zero-g look soooo unnaturally B&M haha :P While the scenery around the hole is great and ingenious, it's a bit of a shame that other areas are so unthemed, ala the station and plaza. I guess budget got to them. I'm sure it'll speed up over time too.

The queue and the station are actually themed very well if you look closely.

From the pictures I imagined that airtime hill to be super intense, but in the video it looks kinda "meh". The theming is really cool though! I can't say I'm a huge fan of the colour scheme however, it's too bland.

I'm actually surprised at how slow the first run was...but it's often that way for new B&Ms and they speed up noticeably during the process of breaking in. I also think the theme elements are stellar, but the overall color scheme is kind of both bland and jarring with the white/orange. At least it's a contrast from Raptor.
