I didn't take you as the religious Christian, Ckid...but yes, it's kind of an extreme action and this person does not have tolerance or trust of God through life storms...

extreme?.. of course. suprising? you gotta be kidding me.
he said it himself "hell sells" while he sees this as a way to preach the gospel to people with common sense, opponents see it as taking away their ace in the hole.

Yeah, the threat of hell seems like the only thing that they can lure people into their churches with, so I'm not really surprised he's been labeled as a heretic by his peers. What I think is weird is that he still believes in god at all after having his "revelation" that hell isn't a real place.

not weird.. believing in god and taking the bible seriously verbatim are two entirely different things.. if we were created by god, then reason is a gift from god, and it does not dishonor god in ANY way to actually use it.
