I strongly dislike most moderen day 'horror' movies. Anything involivng some deranged killer chasing people with retarded hollywood effects just bored me half to death. Also i watched the first Halloween the other night, it was plain BS. The ending consisted of whoever the woman was stabbing Mike Myers in the neck witha needle, then picking up the knife he dropped and put it back down decide him. Surprise surprise he came back to life and as if that wasnt dumb enough the exact thing happened twice, she thought she'd killed him again, picked up the knife and drop it right next to him...it was quite spaztacular if you ask me. You want some true horror films these days like the English version of Frankenstein and Count Dracula, not any of this Americanised versio of it, the whole bolts coming out of Frankensteins monsters neck is plain stupid

There was no Dracula like Bela Logusi, period. But, why are we talking about the horror genre all of a sudden? Wasn't this about the movie "Saw" and it's sequel?

the Saw series (yea if you've seen the 2nd, one it leads you RIGHT into the 3rd) is IMO a pretty twisty series of plots. I liked them, but I wouldn't classify them as horror. They're both really gorry but to me they didn't have a truely scary scene in any of em. Most of it is just BOO AHHH pop out at you stuff or just really kinda sick and disturbing things.

ussually thats defined as a horror movie lol

Webster's defines horror as: intense and profound fear

So, if it is lacking anything fearful, that negates your insight. However, if one of your "fears" may be to have this sort of event happen to you, then yes, you will consider it horror.
