Well, a minor setback.

It appears some of my transitions, while I thought they would be ok, proved otherwise. The wheels come through the floorboards and while some people say thats not a big deal and in real life the PTC's could handle it (though I disagree) I still like to design with those in mind since it makes me work around those problems.

So that turn around at the far end needs to be re-designed and a few other areas - notably the high banked turns since they tend to swoop into other high banked turns.

Hopefully this doesnt take that long.

Anyone that looks for de-railing in NL whenever they download is a bit anal, NL is a very realistic but most de-railing moments in NL would not happen in reality. Anywho, the layout looks great!! Reminds me a bit of The Voyage.

^Whys it anal? Alot of the trains, especially the redesigned trains (and Woodies since they were the first new high poly trains) were designed from pictures and blue prints.

I personally like to think they we think its too easy and that what we create, if it violates that, wouldnt in real life. However, thats just me. I like to air on the side of caution because I think that the designers out there have alot more to worry about than we think - especially with trains and their capabilities.

I'm guessing you got some negative feedback on that double down, so you killed it? Atleast from pictures it looked pretty cool to me.

The ride overall looks like it'll be a lot of fun. I don't like how the overall layout isn't too original; the prelift is almost exactly the same as Hades', without that twisted hill, you have lift, drop, hill, slight lefthand turn, hill... all this seems almost exactly the same as voyage, though it does seem like you may have made some improvements by increasing camelback steepness etc....I just think you could've done more to separate your ride from those that are existing. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a layout like yours in real life, so you get points for keeping it very realistic. Like I said though, looks like a great ride!

edit-forgot to say that the tiny bunny hill between camelback 1 and 2 looks awesome haha.

Theres some differences to the layouts though that make it stand out. The pre-lift is old but its so perfect (lol) that I couldnt ditch it. Its sort of a blend between Hades and Voyage but with some distinct differences.

1 - The first little bend to the left is taken over a super fast camel back giving lateral airtime.
2 - After the 2nd large hill you come down and flatten out for a lateral filled flat right hand turn
3 - Floater hill
4 - You turn again at the bottom of the hill but without flattening out and you pull up into the 85* banked turn (max without poking wheels) and come into the turn around
5 - The turn around ends with a pull up into a right - left jab turn and then features a triple down (more realistically a double down) That turn is completely inspired by the ending right jab turn on Hoosier Hurricane which is just brilliant.

From there I am still working. It will feature a helix on the way back or two but where and how are still to be decided. I need to figure out the formula that GG is using to get these 90 degree banked turns. Its not in the banking but in the shape. Theres a specific shape that allows the trains to bank consistantly and not too suddenly.

All in the details.

Heres that "triple" down. The first little hop doesnt do much.

Very good chance this ride can be done in the next week or two. Ive been finalizing the ending and its coming along fairly well. There will be minimal work as its more of just a fun, standard Voyage style woodie. It has no MCB though and is just straight adrenaline. I got it to run with 6 cars per train so it has some pretty good G's throughout the train.

Just trying to come up with some crazy ending...

That triple down you see above that last post - gone...I think. Everything from the turnaround on was redesigned.
