Ish,yeah i do have the store version.
I have normally 60,than it runs good, but also severalt times an drop of FPS.
But that's because i have way to much tracks + objects in my folder [;)]
The rollbacks, as said, are probably due to bad framerates, but having the store version is also a possibility. Don't know what you can do about that. (it seems like they more than just translated it when creating that version, they had to mess with other parts of the code)
Run the tracks which cause rollbacks in 25% speed. If they all work fine then, it's probably a framerate thing. If they still have rollbacks, then there's something wrong with the NL friction settings.
Your FPS would have to be insanely off in order for that to happen, because FPS doesn't affect the physics of the simulator, just how it appears on your monitor.
I'm guessing it's the version of his game, although I wonder why the values in the physical retail version of the game would be different than the online one ...
Maybe that's how it used to be, but especially now with dual channel, two sticks work faster then one.
2x512mb is cheaper than 1Gb, and the timings are faster because it's easier to get a 512mb stick to run at faster timings, and higher bandwiths than 1Gb.
The difference isn't huge, but at least for gaming, 2x512mb is faster than 1Gb or even 2x1Gb. The difference between those two setups is the amount of memory your computer has available to use, but the 2x512 can be accessed and used faster.
AMD depends on timings (lower the timings, the faster)
Intel depends on bandwith (mhz of memory, higher the better)
And if your looking at AGP, steer clear of the ATI generation 2 GPUs (Xx00 series), they are always owned by their Nvidia equivalents (which even have the SM3 advantage over them), with the exception of maybe only the X850XT PE.
PCI-e is different, and you have a lot more options. Nvidia offers the 7600 and 7900 series, and ATI the X1600 and X1900 (did they both plan that? lol)
Just remember that you'll most likely need a new power supply when upgrading your video card, as many pre-built manafacturers put the bare minimum power supply in their computers to keep costs down.
Whats the store version have to do with it?
Cant you upgrade the store bought version too?
I think it may have something to do with that. Have you updated the thing at all? I know that some of the friction values were changed from version to version.
yea I think it has something to do with the version of NL you have, if most of the tracks you are having rollbacks on are really old tracks then its probably the improvement in the phisics and stuff in NL that cause the train to run a little bit slower
