Then you defenatly know it happends in the same way as a lottery. Pick one out of ..... without looking at the track.

Well, there was a special "Contest Demo" that you had to download. It was basically the coaster editor in the game since it had no theming at all. They wanted a plain, boring track.

I entered. It was so much better, even back then when I sucked really bad.

Togo is an Oregon based roller coaster company

According to the Roller Coaster data base, they're from Ohio. http://www.rcdb.com/cd22.htm
Anyways, Togo wouldn't even higher him, at least they have good layouts, just bad executions of thier designs.[;)]
But above all, I think its a slap in the face to the other 1500 people who had submit tracks. It's not even visually impressive.

That was HORRIBLE!!! Bumpy, over 2 points where you would break your neck, un-original, an unnecesary lift, NO theme at all, no scenery just a ride, and it started with at least 0.7 lateral g's, Schwarzkopf never does that much, the pacing was horrible!!! I wanted to fast forward it so much, and the lift in the middle kills the already bad pace, its very hard to work a second lift in and not kill the pace, you need to get really good pace before that so the lift is a breather, but the coaster was ALL WRONG.

I think the judges gave it to the little guy to give him hope for a future, and because he was 10 and the other contestants were all under 6 or 40 year old men living with their mothers.

A horrible contest with horrible judges, with a very undeserving winner, the kid must know he does not deserve $100,000 for the crap he made, this is why I stick to NL, at least in NL you are not bound to 90 and 45 degree limits, in RCT, there are so many restrictions, and its hard to make anything other then crap, but that kids track was not not just crap, it was RCT crap.

Hahaha, yeah, I have not seen the other coasters for the contest, but out of 1500, I bet at least 1200 are better.

Read the article again and I have another comment on it. Instead of gaining points for some so-called "Puke Factor" he should have lost points for the "Snore Factor". Additionally, Blue Kangaroo is a stupid name. He fails all categories of the rate. It's doubtful any of the judges will see this, but they should be ashamed that people on this site can rate better than they can.

[lol] I agree with the comment that they drew his name out of hat and picked it, lazy judges if you ask me. They could not be assed to rate all tracks or even a handful to see that the track they "chose" as the winner was probably one of the worst submitted. Goes to show that Atari has wads of cash hanging out of their buttholes to spend on stupid contests like so rather than to actually make better products.

There was a similar contest here in Germany about 5 months ago. It was helt by the "Holiday Park" that wanted people to design their new family coaster. There were many German No Limits designers competing too, e.g. "M?????????lla". 39 from 180< contestants were then chosen to come to the Park on 20th May and present their coasters to Werner Stengel and the Parks Manager. In September the best 12 will be invited to the park again then the winner whose coaster will be built, will be declared.

BTW: My sister builts better coaster than this guy, and she is only 9.

You should, you'd do a f**king better job than him [lol].
But really, lets not foget hes 10 years old. I mean yeah, he could have done better, but i highly assume that he's not a coaster enthusiast at all.

mhmm if he could be a coaster designer then i could become president. and i was adopted from another country!
(you can only be the president if you are 35+ and born in the USA)

I've got a few reasons for you hyyyper.

1. Why would WWS ever want to save up $100,000 to just give it away? I'm sure he'd rather spend that much money on the site or himself.

2. How would WWS save up $100,000?

3. Althought it's not that much, there is still a cash prize for winning this years NL tournament.

they really shoulda used NL or soemthing on this to make it somewhat realistic.....and so someone we all know coulda won it. lol.

Also, he is Ten years old and is probably a little 'slow'...

Not just the kid, the judges and criteria have nothing to do with/have no knowledge what's possible and realistic. The contest was bad enough to only allow 1 train and no scenery anyway, it was set up by a bunch of coaster iliterates.

Forget about second, imagine what the tracks they thought were horrible were like!

And also, for those of you who think it was horrible because he's 10, thats not it. I could build better stuff when i was like 2[lol] the track was bad because he sucks at RCT and probably knows nothing about coasters at all.

Wow, that coaster totally sucked. I would put my WORST coaster made with Ultimate Ride Disney Coaster up against that and beat the living tar out of it. Those judges must be on crack or something. Any one of us could make a better coaster with one hand tied behind our backs. Sheesh! That's a disgrace. Really.
