are there brakes on it then? never noticed?

as for G limits, motorbikes can surely handle -1.5 vertical and 1.5 laterals, because the seats have no sides and very large restraints, so it divides the pressure a lot better, unless you're dirk, afcourse

I've uploaded 6 more screenshots showing the new 3ds ramps. I think they create a much more distinct theme of an actual speedway. I know the textures on some of the turns do not match up exactly, but it's damn near impossible to get that perfect in Object Creator. I also removed the 3d bolts on the flanges, footers and track connectors and replaced them with textures. They were just taking up too many fps when I included all the tress and ramps, and I don't think they looked that much better anyways.
I'm also thinking of making one or two of the ramps into tunnels, to add a bit more variety, but I can't decide which ones. Any suggestions?

The video is also coming alond nicely. It should be done some time this week, hopefully. I'm not putting a date on the completion of the whole thing yet. There's still a lot that could change, and if I'm in the next round of the contest (If there even is a next round) then obviosly that will get priotity.

Screenshots here: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/i14229 (click next for the others)

Comments or suggestions for tunnels greatly appreciated.

It looks excellent. I think the launch would be cool inside a tunnel.

I decided to put them before the first overbank, after the second, and before the non-inverted corkscrew next to the station. Nothing too interesting, but they do their job. I've also got the video pretty much done now, expect to see it later today.

launch shouldn't be tunnel IMO, takes away the sensation of speed...

but can't you place the ramps higher, thus close to the track, or will that be too close for the upstop wheel?

also i would make the ramps on the turnaround more banked, like this http://www.arsracing.com/fans/tracks/ch ... urns12.jpg

There are reasons for the the height of the ramps. Mainly, the footers need space to connect to them, so you need a fair amount of clearence for that. And if ther were any higher, some of the track connectors would have to be placed at an angle which would cause them to collide with the upstops. Some of them are close on the overbanks, but I've checked that they all pass.
Interesting idea about banking the flat turns. I'll give that a go. My only concern with that is it might mess up the texture mapping. I'll try it, none the less.

^ That's how I do it too, and sometimes I use photoshop for some other things.

And jordz, didn't you read when I said "Testing is now closed"?

VIDEO! [:D]

http://media.putfile.com/Speedway-Mark-II

Music by The offspring - Staring at the sun. The POV of the first hill might make it seem slower than it really is due to low fps. I purposely didn't include a full onride, I didn't want to give too much away. [;)] Anyways, enjoy! Comments appreciated.

wingover, about the ramps once again, you can always make some sort of gutters for the upstop wheels and square holes for the connectors

While I would like to do that, it would take an enourmous amount of work at this stage to do so. Besides, I'm pretty happy with the way they are at the moment. They feel much closer when you're riding it, especially in some of the high speed turns in the seat nearest the ground.

seeing the screens of your ramps, that wouldn't be too much work, even in the OC, but it's your call
