Is No Limits easy to use? I'm good at making the coasters in RCT2 and 3 and they have too many limits. I just wanted to know if it's going to be easy to make a good ride or not. I've tried Scream Machines and had some trouble on that, but I only tried it for 10 minutes.

I've tried the demo and I decided to buy it. If I have trouble on it I'll use the tutorials lol. But I shouldn't have any trouble. I mean I've seen a rookie's work on it and they did pretty good for their firs time. I'm good with regular coasters but I'm really into doing rocket coasters from Storm Runner to Top Thrill Dragster and with No Limits I can actually build it with the Intamin style coaster lol

I hope it's easy to build a coaster with No Limits cuz it literally took me about 20 minutes to figure out the demo editor

oh, it is not that easy. scratch that, sucky-quality coasters are easy, good-quality coasters are much more difficut.

Best advice I can give you is this: Start small.

There is no reason to try to build a super-duper hyper coaster because it will end up being a nightmare once you see what is needed to make one. Start small, read the directions, look at other well-built rides in the editor and ask questions when you get stuck, but for everyone's sake try to do it before asking - that way when others ask what you have done, we all have a common frame of reference.

Welcome to NL man, you'll never regret having it.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

I haven't tried SM. I found NO LIMITS on a Google search. Downloaded it and immediately purchased it, it was so realistic. That's what I wanted in a simulator. If realism is what you're after, NO LIMITS can't be beat. It took me a long time to learn how to shape the track since you can twist it in any direction you want, but after you get it the way you want it, it still has pumps or jerks in it that have to be smoothed out and that takes plenty of practice. Oh, did I mention practice. Yep, you better be prepared to spend long hours practicing because the more you play at NO LIMITS the better you get. I get the pumps out by just plain old trial and error and going over the same spot perhaps 40 or 50 times trying to smooth a section of track. To see the pumps in the track you have to ride in the back seat of the train because the front seat doesn't show the jerks as well. There is a good tutorial on weeweeslap on how to construct hills that are more or less pump free but you'll have to search for it because I don't remember where it is. Basically it tells you to place the vertex on the inclines and descents of the hills instead of on top and on the bottom. It's just as difficult to do it that way as placing them on the top and bottom but when you get it adjusted just right it does sort of eliminate the pumps in the track. Finally, let me warn you about one thing I discovered. NO LIMITS spaces the horizontal boards on the side of the structure at 10 feet. Real coasters space them at only 6 feet. So if you are doing a replica of a real coaster, your NO LIMITS coaster will have fewer horizontal boards because they are spaced farther apart. I tried to make my NO LIMITS Shooting Star look exactly like the real Shooting Star and it wound up being too high because of the 10 foot spacing in NO LIMITS. It looked just like the real Shooting Star but it was too high. Coaster Dave pointed that out to me. Practice makes perfect so remember you'll get better the more you work at it.

Thanks Wing Over, that's the site I was referring to.

Wow my heads already spinning. Is it easy to make rocket coasters with or can it be pretty complicated? I'm up for the complication but I'm out to make some good rocket coasters with it, then I'll start with the giga and hyper coasters. What can I say I guess I wanna make the best tallest rides? you have more options in sm, and the user interface is easier to understand.

Ok so after trying both the demo for No Limits and Scream Machines, now I'm stuck with which to buy. No Limits is a hefty 30 bucks when Scream machines is a cheaper 20 bucks. They both have really good graphics and I did find Scream machines a little easier to build rides with. I mean come on if someone casn build a perfect recreation of Tatsu on Scream machines, then what more could I need? Since Scream Machines has an easier interface, which one do you think would be easiest enough for me to use and which one should I buy? Right now I'm leanin for Scream Machines.

but ole said that the update will be discounted for those who already own nolimits. if he waited then he would be paying more, am i right? isn't that what the last update on the NL1.6 screenshot site said?

nolimits is a challenge but i played the demo of both also and i like nolimits much more than scream machines. i've had it for a long time and my coasters still aren't perfect. of course, there are tools u can download. unfortunately the main site doesn't sell them anymore. oh, i was going to ask that...

where can u now get the nolimits construction kit since the original site stopped?

anyway, nolimits is a great program. while it might be more costly and a little more complicated, it stil has a lot of potential which we've seen in the screenshots for the next update. and hey, its cheaper than going to the store and buying RCT3 and all the expansions.

The full construction kit (pay version) isn't for sale anymore, but you can still download the free version.

AHG doesn't come with the construction kit anyway, and neither do most of the other tools. They're all here if you didn't know: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/toolbox
