after being a roller coaster tycoon player since the first game came out in 1999 ive bought every expansion pack yet, and every new whole game. since roller coaster tycoon became 3d it hasn't been the same, you don't get the same feeling and well it just isn't the same game.

I really miss the music and the concept of the older game, well who feels the same, tell me what you miss, or what you like more about rct3?

i must say i do miss the original rct concept. rct2 was a good improvement on rct and i dont like rct3 much at all.

what i miss is the simplicty of the game. give you a task and off you go and do your own thing. it give you a good feeling seeing peeps enjoying themselfs. true it isnt real or anything but it didnt matter cuz it is possiable to sit and play it all night as i have done several times in the past. rct3 just dosent have that playability factor. its too bright, too complicated (in a sence of the phrase) and just slows down too much even if you got a top computer. i still play rct2 from time to time to remind myself of a computer game that really set off a big addicition to coasters, i loved coaster before hand but rct just hightened it to the next level and im shure in a few years im going to need some sort of threpy for it. i do very much miss it and still very much enjoy playing it and have been doing so quite alot recently since ive had a bit of a mental block with no-limits this program sturs my imagination and get me firing on all cylinders again. i think ill be playing again later, you got me going

I don't miss anything from it because I only play RCT2. I even have the other RCT3, but I play RCT2 anyway. Now, what I wish that RCT3 had is the fun factor. Well, pretty much everything that gazag said.

I agree with you all. If it wasn't for rct2 I wouldn't be into coasters. I saw Six Flags Great Adventure on the parks list and found out how close I lived to it. Then that summer I went there and I was stuck to coasters like paper and glue lol. This game started my life long addiction!

when i first heard about RCT3, about the 3D gameplay and being able to ride the rides, i got realy excited and couldn't wait to see what it looked like. but once i saw the screenshots, i was so disappointed. it was like sim theme park, just slightly upgraded. the realism wasn't there like in the original RCT games (well you know, it wasn't really that cartoonish).

so after downloading the demo, and getting even more disappointed, i knew i would never purchase it. and i haven't. there's some nostalgia about the original. even the simple graphics packed a really big punch. everything was pretty realistic and the expansion packs were always great

i still even play RCT1, it brings back memories. no 3D game could replace it.

I haven't played in a long time. Either of them. And yes, RCT2 is better. Period. I'm going to play it right now. Goodbye.

Thanks for making me think of it, skully dude!

RCT 3 just doesn't seem to have the same......imaginativeness that RCT 2 had. The scenery on 3 just seems so...lame.

I really got to say i like RCT2 better than 3 because my computer kind of rejects the game so it is waaaaaayyy to slow for me and (please dont make fun of me)I Kind of like 1 insted of 2 because on the rides panel on RCT1 it contains more info about the rides and the rides panel on RCT2 has almost no info at all The bottom line is that I like em all but RCT2 and RCT1 are like the dominators

The roller coaster tycoon in 1999 inspired me to design and ride thrill rides and rollercoasters. I rarely play rct3 cause it aint like rct2 or rct... it laggs way more. If they make a new rct, they should have the fun factor of rct2, but being able to ride the rides still. Plus rct3 roller coasters designs, car texture, lift chain, the stormrunner's launch system, and especially the brakes suck ass. If you look at the reverse freefall rollercoaster. The LSM's are the brakes tilted.

For some reason, RCT1 doesn't work at all, won't install. I don't use RCT2 that much either. Both seem to have gotten a bit old, and I'm not a fan of 2D 256-bit graphics either. (it just makes it harder to build and see the stuff you create) RCT3's framerates are atrocious in small, 3-coaster parks, dispite every other 3D games/programs working fine. For RCT2, it's a bit hard to create something detailed and realistic, and trainers help a lot with enabling tools, etc.

I like all 3. RCT got me into coasters. RCT2 was fun. RCT3 was a disapointment but I loved the fact that it was 3D now.

RCT2 is just a plain awesome game. I love the retroness and the simplicity as said. It's just such an addicting game, you never cease to want to make your park bigger and better, and once you really get good at the game you feel yourself just sitting at the computer is a paralytic state, placing wall after wall on top of each other. It's as though nothing else matters in the world, you just need to get the theming perfect. Oh and when you cant get a wall piece in the right place, the terrian just doesnt let you make the one edge go blue (or red whatever) so you can build on it, the hours of changing views and holding shift just never ended! RCT2 was just an amazing game and is better than RCT3 is everyway. I don't just say that like 'Oh yeah, the old Green Day was way better!' I mean RCT2 was seriously better than RCT3

I miss the good color scheme that doesn't make bright yellow a tinted black color.

2 is amazing. i had the notrocity of losing the cd and not being an expert with getting cracks and stuff, i had to go on a vigirous search to find a new copy. luckily they have them at dollar general, and i've been addicted for the last month playing it. i kinda became my gateway back into coasters (i took a 2 year break, kinda)

it's so much more realistic (ride wise) then 3, and the gameplay is alot simpiler. that's basically why it's so much better. 3's coasters just look so horriabule in 3d i'd rather have the game in 2d anyway.

I don't think RCT3 Is a bad game, but RCT And RCT2 Are much better. Personally I think they should have left out the deep 3D aspects of the game and just went with simple 3D, like Age of Empires 3 for example. They should have just used small 3d people and you can make small 3d coasters. It's just like the 3d engine is way to big and it gets really annoying trying to build a park when it's just so big.

I have to be the odd one out and say that I actually like RCT3 more. RCT2 is more nostalgia for me now than anything. I think you could make much more detailed parks in RCT2 which is something I miss. The scenery was also better in RCT2 if you don't use custom scenery in RCT3. I also miss how fast RCT2 ran as opposed to RCT3's memory sucking 3D engine. 3 does run much better if you have a decent graphics card, but as soon as you hit 1000 peeps, performance goes down the toilet.

There's a few other small things I don't like about RCT3 but there's a lot more that I do like. Rideable rides, waterparks, animals, fireworks, lights (and custom color lights) and it's much easier to make buildings with the free moving camera. I also think that the rides are fairly accurate to the real life counterparts. They're not stupid like Sim Coaster with no lap bars and magnets to lift cars over gaps and crap. lol

Still, it's fun to load up RCT2 and check out all of my old parks. :)

I recently reinstalled RCT3. Meh, kind of amusing, but as everyone else says, the graphics kill my computer. I find it also really hard to get people to actually ride the coasters.

Due to those facts, I reinstalled RCT2 and got my full blown addiction back. I just love to see long lines of peeps flowing into the rides. Its easier than 3, but at least its enjoyable and not a chore. I also like being able to build tunnels and underground....unlike RCT3
